If you are looking for an anime series with creative battles and humor, you should take a look at The Law of Ueki. Even though the characters are pretty generic, their powers are certainly not.The first third of the series contain amazingly funny battles whereas the rest of the series get a lot more serious as more powerful bad guys appear. Story: (9/10) – GreatUeki Kousuke, a Junior High school student, is picked by a God Candidate, Koba-sen, to participate in a competition where Junior High school students battle out to have one wish come true and to make their God Candidate God. 100 students are picked and each is given an unique power. The interesting part is most of these powers are unexpected and make no sense at all. One good example is Ueki's power is to change trash into trees?! Does that sound even powerful? Well, it sounds more environmentally friendly than powerful to me but this series certainly proved me wrong.Character: 8/10 - GoodThe two characters I like are Ueki and Sano Seiichirou. The only thing I do not like about the series is that the speed at which the characters power-up is too fast (especially Ueki)!!Ueki - the laid back protagonistSano - the onsen-loving guyArt/Animation: 7/10 – Fairly GoodThere's not much to comment about. Everything is done as it should be. The animation and art isn't something to wow about but it's not half-bad. Music: 8/10 – GoodThe music, though nothing extraordinary, is put to good use. It makes the action scenes more dramatic, and adds more to the great battles.Enjoyment: 8/10 - GoodI personally like The Law of Ueki for its humor more than its action. When the series gets more serious and Ueki starts to power-up crazily, my passion for the series dropped a little but nonetheless, I still enjoy the series. Overall: 8/10 - GoodOverall, The Law of Ueki is a pretty good shounen anime. The humor and creativity of the battles makes it an enjoyable watch.
