The Northern Survivors help Anastasia's group take out the Awakened Beings. Stop trying to be so serious Dietrich, and join your pals for some Awakened Being-bashing fun. Summary: Cynthia is healing Phina while Yuma and Keira stand guard. Not far away, Helen, Deneve and Tabitha are slicing and dicing the Awakened Beings while Anastasia and Nike watch in amazement. An Awakened comes up behind Anastasia and Nike, but it's cut in half by Dietrich. Dietrich then goes on a long speech trying to explain who the others are and asking if they are enemies or allies, but Anastasia comments that judging by Dietrich's actions, Deneve and company seem to be her friends. Anastasia and Nike decide to rejoin the battle and they help Deneve and company cut down a few more monsters. Deneve cuts off the arm of an Awakened Being, but the monster runs past her towards Cynthia's group. Cynthia is busy healing Phina, and Keira is too weak so it's up to Yuma to stop the monster. Yuma picks up two claymores, throws one to cut off the Awakened's legs and then uses the other sword to decapitate the falling monster. Deneve, Anastasia and company hurry back to check on Yuma's group after killing all the monsters and Helen is impressed that Yuma actually took down an enemy. Cynthia has finished healing Phina and the warriors start talking about where the Awakened Beings came from. Deneve hypothesizes that the Organization is making half-man half-yoma (male "Claymores" awaken very quickly unlike females) nearby and are using them to destroy villages and make other villages pay for Claymores. The discussion has Nike all confused, but Anastasia knows that Deneve's group is after the Organization and asks what will the group do with Claymores that stand in their way. Deneve answers that enemy Claymores will be defeated but not killed following the spirit of Miria. Anastasia seems satisfied with the answer and agrees to show the Northern Survivors the way back to the Organization, and Deneve asks Tabitha to decide where everyone should head to (the Organization HQ to save Miria or the place where the Awakened Beings are made). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lots of action, but nothing really out of the ordinary in this chapter. The Northern Survivors plus Dietrich kill off the newbie Awakened Beings, and there wasn't much drama coming from Anastasia's group about the Northern Survivors' plan to take down the Organization. I guess Claymores have a lot of reasons not to be satisfied about their employer. Anastasia seems like a nice and reasonable person (and she's hot), and it's good to have her group join the good camp. Deneve's explanation for the random Awakened Beings made sense. The monsters are just a way for the Organization to keep villages and cities under control, and that explains why the Organization is doing brisk business since they control both supply and demand for monster exterminations. So the chapter ends with Tabitha choosing where to go next, but couldn't the group just mop up the Awakened Being factory (which is closer) along the way and then head to Organization HQ afterwards? If Miria is dead then she's dead, and if she's alive the Organization probably won't be killing her anytime soon. From the feed of A Product of Wasted Time
