Claymore 86 - After defeating the awakened being, Dietrich, Deneve, and Helen check on the three unconscious Claymores and determine that they sustained no life-threatening injuries. Helen then asks Dietrich to keep her and Deneve's existence a secret, but Dietrich tells them that she has been taught not to lie to The Organization. Dietrich tells the two Northern Campaign survivors to kill her if they don't want her to tell anyone, but Deneve and Helen choose to run instead. However, Deneve and Helen find themselves followed by Dietrich and they can't seem to lose the Claymore, so they stop to see what Dietrich has to say.Upon catching up, Dietrich suggests to Deneve and Helen that they should kidnap her so she won't let their secret out. Dietrich also correctly guesses that the two warriors in front of her are survivors of the Northern campaign. Helen thinks Dietrich's suggestion is preposterous, but she and Deneve don't really have a choice now that Dietrich knows their true identities. Dietrich goes on to offer Helen and Deneve some information about the southern lands. According to Dietrich, in the past seven years, half of the towns and villages in the southern region have disappeared, and this is due to some sort of "demon" moving about the land. Despite the warning from Dietrich, Helen and Deneve are determined to continue on their journey and check on their hometowns. The group of three emerge from the forest and spot a town in the distance. Helen and Deneve can feel an extremely strong yoki presence emanating from the town, and they guess that it's probably from the Abyssal One Isley. Both Helen and Deneve know that they stand no chance against Isley, but they decide to go into the town anyways to see if they can spot Isley without being detected. With this in mind, Helen and Deneve make their way toward the town, leaving Dietrich standing at the edge of the forest.Helen and Deneve are walking inside the town with their hoods raised and their yoki suppressed. The town turns out to be quite populous, but it doesn't look like any of the townspeople can detect Isley's presence. As the two arriors continue walking around, Deneve wonders why Isley is hiding in this town and also wonders why Dietrich didn't refer to the "demon" she was mentioning as an Abyssal One. Suddenly, Helen and Deneve discover that Isley is standing right in front of them. Deneve tells Helen to turn around and retreat, but Helen's legs give out due to Isley's immense presence. Deneve quickly crouches down beside Helen and both warriors face downward to avoid meeing Isley's eyes. Isley asks if the two need any help, and Deneve tells Isley that they are okay. Isley walks past the two warriors and Deneve thinks that they have eluded detection, but suddenly she is cut down by Isley. Helen turns around and sees Isley has drawn his sword and is prepared to strike once more.Back in the forest, Dietrich is hiding behind a tree from a monstrous being that is approaching the town. It seems that this monster is the "demon" Dietrich had in mind.Another super-strong monster pops out of nowhere.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Another juicy chapter. Dietrich has tagged herself along with Deneve and Helen by using her no-nonsense personality and very respectable abilities as a warrior. It looks like all three of them are in trouble now though. Helen and Deneve are now in immediate danger since Isley doesn't seem to like surprise visitors, but the two of them will be spared once the "demon" gets closer to the town. I have a feeling that Isley might be hiding in the town to protect it from the marauding "demon", but of course the reason behind Isley's actions is still a mystery. Isley and his forces should have gained control over the southern lands after he defeated Luciela, but if that's the case then why would he allow a monster to move around the land destroying village after village? Perhaps Isley's group have split up and/or he has somehow lost control over the land. Priscillia and Raki are not with him anymore, so something definitely happened with Isley's group. The new "demon" monster is also interesting. The obvious guess is that it's an awakened being who was formerly a high-ranked Claymore, but of course we don't know who he/she is yet. This "demon" emerged after the Northern Campaign and is probably extremely strong. If it wasn't then Isley or somebody else would have definitely killed it already. We have intriguing storylines for both this group and Clare's group, and I can't wait to see how all this comes together.
