The Organization finds something interesting in a nearby village; Uma and Cynthia run into the infected Beth; and Clare and crew head for Rafaela/Luciela.Summary:While Clare and buddies are fighting for survival, a group from the Organization is looking at Rafaela/Luciela from a distance. The leader Daye (waiting for English name translation) wants his team to recover some still-moving specimens of the spike monsters for research, and his team is understandably worried about their own safety. At this moment, a team member reports that something interesting was found in a nearby village.Looks like the reunion with Clare has been put off indefinitely.Daye and his crew arrive at the village and finds in ruins. The village was attacked by the spike monsters and all of the monsters have stopped moving, but more curious is that almost all the residents are gone. The only survivor left is Raki who has been hit by two spikes from the monsters, but somehow Raki is able to stave off being completely taken over by the spikes. Daye orders his crew to take Raki back to HQ for study, but of course Daye himself won't be traveling with the crew in case Raki is completed taken over in the middle of the journey.Meanwhile, Uma and Cynthia are running through the forest when Tabitha senses the presence of a nearby warrior. The two go off to investigate and discovers Beth pinned to the ground with a giant spike. Cynthia realizes something is wrong and tells Uma to back off. The warrior then watch in horror as Beth is taken over by the spike and transforms into a large bladed feline monster that starts slicing up its surroundings. The ultimate slicing n' dicing machine no. 2!!!Some distance away, Clare, Helen and Deneve have defeated all the nearby spike monsters and the rest of monsters have stopped moving because they ran out of energy. Helen wants to take a break but she and her friends quickly realize that Luciela/Rafaela is getting ready to launch another barrage of spikes.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Not quite what I was expecting/or hoping for, but this was an interesting chapter nonetheless. I was hoping to see Clare and buddies continuing to slice and dice the spike monsters and I also wanted to see Priscilla in action, but the chapter just jumped over all of those things. Instead, we have the presence of the Organization's recovery crew. Their presence is not entirely unexpected, but the surprise is that they recovered a wounded Raki from the nearby village. Seeing how all the other humans plus the spike monsters were wiped out, I have a feeling that Priscilla might have gone into blood lust and killed everything in sight except Raki. I don't think anyone except Priscilla had the power to keep Raki alive during the onslaught by the spike monsters. Raki still got hit by some of the small spikes though, although it's strange how he is able to slow down the takeover process. Given the development, I don't think Raki and Clare are going to reunite any time soon, and when they do they might end up on the opposite sides of the battlefield as Raki could very well become the Organization's next secret weapon. As for Priscilla, I wonder where she's going off to. Maybe she'll go look for Clare or challenge Rafaela/Luciela? One can only hope. The other more predictable development was the Beth has been taken over by the spike and turned into a rather sleek looking monster. The feline form of Luciela plus the black blades of Alicia are a pretty nice combination. It looks better than Alicia's form. Anyways, I don't think Uma and Cynthia can beat this monster, so they'll probably have to run for their lives. And I wonder what's happening with Riful and the out-of-control Alicia. It's too bad Claymore is a monthly series.
