「赤いナイフ使い」 (Akai Naifu Tsukai)
"Red Knife User"
Released earlier this month with the eleventh volume of the manga, Deadman Wonderland's OVA features an original episode centering around Kiyomasa Senji's past as a police officer. It provides an interesting glimpse into his pre-Deadman life, something that I've been curious about after seeing the images in the ending sequence.

What a surprise: a Deadman Wonderland episode that actually takes its time.
This was actually a very good premise of how an OVA should be done: this neither was pointless fanservice or random gags, but it also wasn’t just “another episode”. Instead we get to see the background of one of the side-characters: Senji. On [...]

There comes a time in many series where you have to accept that a character’s time has come. People can easily die in just about any series, especially ones like Deadman Wonderland, and it’s sometimes possible to tell that someone is going to even before it happens. That’s what I’ve felt for a little while [...]

Episode: Deadman Wonderland Episode 48
As you may have noticed, I’ve seen the “murder for shock value” twist a few too many times. Well, even though it took a month and a half to make, it was still faster than the last video. Most of my problems were in the writing, as it had been a long time since I’d [...]

It's blogger tradition to preview the season's shows and being the fresh intern that I was (not that I'm a pro now) made my first real preview. It was of this year's Spring shows and feeding off the buzz that Madoka had generated, I carefully picked out the shows that I thought would be a hit, at least for my personal tastes. Because of my huge backlog, I'm unable to preview the forthcoming Fall season. Instead, I present to you this post which details what was hot and what was not with the TRazor. No spoilers for any of the shows.

That’s it? I can’t seem to appreciate what has gone with deadman wonderland. It is the most darkest anime ever aired in tv, but I meant that literally. Yeah, the creators goes a lot of length with the gore only to censor it in the final product. Why is it that they are so into twisted criminals that promotes nothing but sheer violence. I [...]

Sorry about the lateness here, some computer problems played into that. Still even a couple months past, this is a series I won’t be forgetting about any time soon.
Final Words:
It was definitely interesting to see the manga that I’ve been enjoying get turned into an anime. One thing that was constantly apparent was the rush [...]

Hmmm. Deadman Wonderland is probably most easily described as anime doing The Running Man, but that doesn't quite hit the nail on the head. Ganta Igarashi's been framed for a crime he didn't commit, and sentenced to serve his time in a high-security prison that uses its inmates as entertainment in a bizarre themepark. But, no surprises for guessing, things aren't exactly what they seem...

It’s been about a month since I actually reviewed anything. I generally avoid watching shows for reviews when the new season is starting up, and after that I was preoccupied with other stuff. I did manage to go back and take a look at a series that originally aired in the spring though. Main reason [...]

Final impression – poorly executed 4/10 Spring 2011 It’s just an ordinary day at school for Ganta Igarashi, when the frightening Red Man flies into his class and murders everyone around him. After being accused of the murders himself and a farce of a trial that leaves Ganta public enemy number one, he ends up [...]
