This is review number one hundred and twenty five. It’s part of the Fall 2012 line up. It’s Jormungand season two. It’s about an arms dealer and her group of talented soldiers. I was a bit lukewarm with the first season but I hope the second season can clear some stuff up for me. The [...]

Perfect Order? Close enough. Happy new years to everyone! And what a way to end the year, with Koko being her usual loco self. …Even though I’m pretty sure this came out around Christmas and episode 11 was out way before that. Anyways, this was a fabulous ending to a fabulous series and they managed [...]

An anime that features the world of weapons, smugglers, the black market and weapon dealers. No, this isn't actually Black Lagoon that's being referred to, but rather a newer, edgier, mature and intellectual series, Jormungand. Jormungand is a story about a weapons dealer and her band of mercenaries, but calling it even remotely like Black Lagoon is making quite the serious mistake. If anything, Jormungand is Black Lagoon's older, maturer and cleverer cousin, and one that marries suspense, action with politics, complex philosophies and extremely grounded, deep characters. Jormungand, which actually spans two seasons (The Original and the sequel Perfect Order) is a series that is entertaining, clever and unpredictable, in both a good and bad way.

So, in a choice between the devil you’re tired of, and the devil that over-promises, Jonah chose the latter. Well, that caps up the year-long journey that was Jormungand. It was an interesting enough show that I first thought would be something on the lines of Black Lagoon, only more political and filled with intrigue, [...]

My face through the most of this. At the damn last. I can’t believe I stuck with it all the way to the end, but I guess I’m a bit too optimistic for my own good. Jormungand has decent production values, an okay cast to build on, and the setting isn’t half bad. The problem [...]

With all of her cards on the table, it seems as if Jormungand is ready to be unleashed, and Jonah's decision to defect from her ranks is going to do nothing to change that. Or is it?
This finale to Perfect Order sees us fast-forward by two years, and there's no sign of Jormungand being put to use to stop war, death and destruction around the world. Indeed, if anything the intervening period

Well, that was an interesting way to end things. It wasn't what I expected, but it sure was Jormungand-isque to say the least.

Two years after Jonah left Koko, the entire world has been set ablaze by wars and sits on the brink of WWIII. Koko hires Kasper’s men, including Jonah, to guard her as they launch the completed quantum computer into orbit in Kazakhstan. Kasper knows her plan, but he tells her it won’t stop him from [...]

Anyone who pays attention to me knows that I have been hating on Jormungand for a long while. I was liking it in its first half solely for the comedic banter, guns, and Koko, but eventually its flaws caught up to me and I started realizing that the story and characters weren’t interesting in the [...]

After 24 episodes, I can safely state that I’ll be missing Jormungand. A series that won my heart and continued to be one of the most fun to watch this year, received a pleasantly surprising ending. In a way that could quite literally be used to start off an anime, the final episode skips ahead … Continue reading »The post Jormungand: Perfect Order – 12 (END) + Series Review appeared first on Anime Aura.

Koko is a whole new level of loco. With no change in pace, the penultimate episode of Jormungand just coasts along. A little disappointing, when you consider how the story has been heading towards a big event/finale and in spite of this delivered a mellowed out episode with a significant plot development. Jonah’s loyalty to … Continue reading »The post Jormungand: Perfect Order – 11 appeared first on Anime Aura.
