We have-- and by that I mean John has --been posting a lot of robot stuff lately. Girl robots, robots making out...does he know something I don't know? Moon Phase reported today that some kind of unknown adaptation of Yuria 100 Shiki, a seinen comedy by Shigemitsu Harada and Nobuto Hagio, is in the works, and set to be announced in the next issue of Young Animal (in which the manga is serialized). Says the Moon Phase guy: "Finally, with the next issue, the whole story will be clear. But, you never know what might happen..."The manga revolves around an android named Yuria, a highly advanced AI robot designed...to be a dutch wife. Yes, she's a sexbot. But oddly enough, her AI is a little tweaked; she doesn't WANT to be a sex bot. So she escapes from her maker, the creatively named "Dr. Akiba," and while trying to find a place to stay, she meets college student Shunsuke Kubo. Kubo lets her stay with him, and she struggles against her programming tht makes her want to take everything he says sexually and do the man...or any man. Other Yuria-type robots appear, as well as Kubo's girlfriend, and the return of Dr. Akiba.It sounds like it could be a cute ecchi comedy; I do like that Kubo has a girlfriend, so maybe it won't be a Chobits/Mahoromatic/etc. type show where he falls for the 'bot, but just a straight comedy...but I guess we'll see. The adaptation could be an anime, a live-action movie or drama, or maybe even a video game or something, I dunno. The term "eizou" is a little generic.What do you think? Sound like something you'd wanna watch, or sounds like a snore-fest?
