Yagami Light is an ace student with great prospects, who's bored out of his mind. One day he finds the "Death Note": a notebook from the realm of the Death Gods, with the power to kill people in any way he desires. With the Death Note in hand, Light decides to create his perfect world, without crime or criminals. However, when criminals start dropping dead one by one, the authorites send the legendary detective L to track down the killer, and a battle of wits, deception and logic ensues..Source: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=6592"The human whose name is written in this note shall die."Another series that had my mind twisted, Death Note is the best in terms of mind games, tactical moves and strategic planning. As Light is on the hunt by L, he uses his knowledge and wits to prove his innocence. What was amusing was that he uses various techniques and strategies that are sometimes bizarre to be able to run away from L. Imagine for almost around 50++ episodes, Light was able to evade L with his crazy ideas. The Death Note has rules that needs to be followed and this is a very important tool for Light in his escape plans. He was able to fully utilize everything in his full ability. He is a very intelligent person....you really wouldn't think that he has a twisted mind. He is the son of a high ranking police officer. Though he advocates for a danger-free world, his methods of giving justice is being questioned as he kills all criminals with the use of his Death Note. Each episode is a suspense and thriller especially when L and Light became friends. Suspicion is always present between the two of them but one cannot really prove something from the other since the facts are not really strong and the possibility of a mistake is high. One wrong word or move might give the other a very huge advantage or disadvantage. Despite the everyday tension, they were able to be close with each other and even became close friends. But deep inside this friendship is a tug-of-war between these two brilliant individuals, making sure to catch the other first.Of course, I also had the chance to watch the live action movie and it was as good as the anime. Even the special effects were superb! Ryuu, the shinigami was present in the live action in his 3d form and damn, he looks like his anime version. I really salute the production crew and all the people behind the live action.Another live action movie was released entitled "L change the WorLd" and I am very much excited to see it. I dunno if subs are already available but it's a definite in my watch list sooner or later.
