Pandora Hearts is a series full of interesting characters, good looking guys and plot twists. The plot twists make this series unpredictable and exciting to watch. The creators did a very good job in keeping the audience in suspense and subtly revealing the truth behind the Tragedy of Sabrie. However, sadly, even at the very last episode, the whole truth is not revealed.Other than the animation quality, my other complaint about the series is that there are too many Oz X Alice scenes. I like both characters but I'm not too fond of this pairing. I very much prefer Oz X Gil scenes as I'm very touched by Gil's loyalty to his master. Throughout the last few episodes, I had this feeling that Gil wanted to tell Oz something (other than about the father) and it's sad that Gil ended up saying nothing much.So now, the question remains whether there will be a second season or not. The last episode gave no clues at all and I can only hope and pray hard that there will be. I actually like some of the new characters (Elliot and Reo) and hope to learn more about them.Story: 9/10 – GreatThe story is very well written and it's full of twists and cliffhangers at the end of each episode. Though the mangaka borrowed some elements from Alice in Wonderland, I personally feel that the story is very fresh and original. Initially, the series might seem like a typical fantasy series, but as the series progressed on, it evolved into a great mystery series with many twists and unexpected revelations.Character: 9/10 - GreatOne of the things I really like about this series is its characters. From Oz, the fun-loving and flirty kid, to Gil, a cool guy who is obsessed with his black hat, to Alice, the short-tempered glutton, and to Break, the weird humored Pierrot, everyone is unique and likable. However, as the series progressed, we slowly learned that everyone is not what they appear to be and they all have a painful and dark past.My favorite characters are:Jack Bezarius (He's so dreamy looking!!) ♥Gilbert Nightray (He looks so cool!) ♥Oz Bezarius (He's so cute!) ♥Break (Initially, I don't really like him but towards the end, I actually find him very interesting.)Alice (She's strong mentally and physically. I like that. I hate damsel in distress!)Art/Animation: 7/10 – Fairly GoodIn general, the art is pretty good. The characters are beautifully drawn and so is the background. Animation wise, it's lackluster. The animation quality in the first episode was bad but thank goodness, it slowly got better.Music: 8/10 – GoodI find the OP and ED average. However, I really love 'Lacie' - the melody from the pocket watch. It's really beautiful.Enjoyment: 9/10 - GreatBecause of the mystery surrounding the series and the exciting twists, I really enjoy Pandora Hearts. Other than that, it also has a good mix of humor and action. Overall: 9/10 - GreatI've read comments that many have dropped this series because of the animation quality. I personally think that it's a big pity. The interesting plot, great cast of characters and exciting twists more than make up for the poor animation quality.
