Though there is no confirmation if this is the one and only project that was
alluded to recently,
a new Code Geass manga has been announced. Like with
Knightmare of Nunnally
and
Tales of an Alternate Shogunate,
this new series, titled
Renya of the Blackness,
takes place in an alternate universe. Actually, that's not true at all. While it takes part in another time period, Renya is supposed to factor into the same timeline as our mainstream Code Geass series.
Possible best friend?
The story takes place in the Edo period (1603 to 1868) looks at a young man named Renya, who signs a contract with a certain perpetually young witch named C.C. Though details of his geass or plot is limited, they did reveal that the character has an entirely mechanical arm...
Oh well. The manga is being worked on by Goro Taniquchi, the director and co-creator of the anime's story, so bleed over allusions are bound to be the letter of the day. No release venue or schedule as of yet, but when we know, you'll know.
Question:
Do we want more Geass? Is this an appropriate continuation, or just milking the cash cow?
