The ladies of Evangelion 2.0: Asuka, Rei, and Mari Word from AV Watch is that Evangelion 2.22, in a mere 7 days, Amazon has received over 88,000 preorders for the Blu-Ray and DVD releases of the second of four Eva remake flicks and propping it up at the top of Amazon's DVD ranking list. Reminder: this is just the pre-orders; the movie doesn't hit stores until May 26th! But in order for Eva to top the list, someone else had to be knocked down-- and it was the King of Pop himself. Michael Jackson's This is It on DVD has been bumped down to #3. (If you're curious: Gundam Unicorn, Summer Wars, This is It on Blu-Ray, Bakemonogatari, Up, Eva 1.11, and a Fast and the Furious box set make up the rest of the top 10.) But man, 88,000 preorders in a week? And now it's at something like 10 days, so I bet it's broken the 100k mark. Impressive, Eva. Very impressive. I know I'm more curious for the second movie than the first, mostly thanks to Mari Makinami. How about you?
