Cross Game 49 Gratuitous post is gratuitous. Now that the Cross Game anime is reaching its climax with only 2 episodes left, I think I’m going to just post pics of my favourite manga moments animated. This was a serious fistpump-worthy fakeout by Adachi. All bets are on 3 True Outcomes with Mishima at bat. But instead of Kou getting the epic strikeout or giving away the devastating walk-off homerun, Azuma makes this brilliant play to catch Mishima’s liner at first. さすが、私の未来のだんな様 ヽ(´∇���)人(⌒▽⌒)人(´∀���)ノ The character development in this show is so beautifully rendered in a sports context. I love how stone cold Azuma has now fully broken out of his machine-like persona by doing messy things like stealing bases and sliding home, hitting singles and triples instead of home runs, making guts poses, playing great defence and generally just “having fun out there!” …while the self-deprecating and easily ruffled Kou is still hurling close to 160kmph after 12 innings and calmly pitching himself out of every pinch. Not to mention hitting home runs out of the 6-hole. And confessing to the girl he actually loves. Best show ever.
