It appears as if the Anime Basquash! is going to be returning to Japanese televisions, for Statelight anime studio has informed ANN that they plan on relaunching the show in the future. For those of you who don’t know, Basquash! is a sports anime where giant robots play basketball. The reason why they are doing this “relaunch” is because they want to change the target audience to the more casual sports fan, rather than hardcore otaku. What this means is that there is going to be less fan service, and more actual sports action. Now Basquash! will become a shonen show, more akin to something like Eyeshield 21 and Inazuma Eleven. This is a smart more, for Inazuma Eleven right now is doing a hell’a good. I think this is a great idea actually, I kind of wished Basquash! was more over-the-top than it actually was; but now all my dreams will come true.
