Word along the grapevine is that the live-action Japanese movie of Beck-- the popular manga by Harold Sakuishi about a group of teens who start a rock band --is going to feature some heavy hitters on its soundtrack: no less than the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Oasis. It's far from the first time that popular western artists provided music to movies based on manga-- the RHCP let the first live-action Death Note film use "Dani California," and Lenny Kravitz's "I'll Be Waiting" was featured in the film L: Change the WorLd. Oasis also has a history with anime: Eden of the East featured the band's "Falling Down" as its OP. <object width="640px" height="388px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lwLsw9MlzJQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&badVar=0x5d1719&badVar=0xcd311b&hd=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lwLsw9MlzJQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&badVar=0x5d1719&badVar=0xcd311b&hd=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640px" height="388px" wmode="transparent"></embed></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param></object> Still and all, though, RHCP and Oasis on one anime soundtrack? That sounds pretty awesome.
