My first impression of Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu is that it's yet another stupid (since it has the word Baka in it) harem anime. I tend to shy away from harem anime as the male subject is usually too wimpy, too weak, not good-looking... and the female subjects are usually too good for the male subject. So what makes Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu different from the others? Well, the main male character does fit into the usual stereotype and his harem is also quite typical. It includes a big-boobed and extremely irritating girl (moe), a flat-chested and violent girl (tsundere), and an intelligent megane-kun (the only unique thing about the harem). The only reason why I can last through the 13 episodes despite the main female character (the big-boobed one) being so irritating is because of the humor. The gags, the randomness and the humor are plain silly and they certainly fit the theme of baka.Anyway, a second season was announced but the release date is not yet confirmed (probably next year).Plot: (6/10) – FairThe main story is about how the students of F-class (the worst class) try to beat the other classes in battles with their 'summoned beings' and prove to everyone that academic is not everything. The battles are nothing interesting but the 'summoned beings' are really cute.Characters: (7/10) – Fairly GoodAs mentioned before, the characters are nothing special and frankly, there's no characters I particularly like a lot but I do enjoy the interaction between Akihisa (the main character) and Yuuji. I especially love the below scenes. The interaction between Hideyoshi (ambiguous gender!) and the others are quite fun to watch too.Art/Animation: (7/10) – Fairly GoodThe art is simple and it fits the style of the anime. I find the character designs of the 'summoned beings' really cute. The animation effect used to animate the 'Summoned Being War' is pretty well-done too.Music: (7/10) – Fairly GoodThe Opening theme and the second Ending theme are the typical cute anime songs. I personally like the first Ending theme 'Baka Go Home' by milktub.Enjoyment: (8/10) – GoodIt does a good job in making me laugh.Overall: (7/10) – Fairly GoodBaka to Test to Shoukanjuu is brainless, full of baka humor and it's the perfect anime for relieving stress.
