Hello again everyone,
Let's go ahead with another review. This time we'll talk about an erogè adapted into anime (and also a manga) named "Akane iro ni somaru saka" produced by feng.
I didn't play fully the erogè, but only few routes (Minato and Yuuhi only as they were my favourites) so I'll talk mostly about the anime!
Let's start up with a synopsys :
Jun'ichi Nagase attends a prestigious high school. He has the nickname Geno Killer since he was rebellious in middle school. This is used, inadvertently, to help a girl named Yuuhi Katagiri from trouble. She later transfers to his school, and in order to protect Yuuhi from danger, Jun'ichi is forced to kiss her. Not understanding what happened, she screams at him. Subsequently, it turns out that Yuuhi is his fiancé as arranged by their parents. Their parents discuss the matter and order them to go out together for a month to restore their relationship. If their relationship does not get better, the engagement will then be canceled.
Ah, it's refreshing to go back reviewing a story based upon an erogè. They do have simple story and most of them end up in harem anime adaptations that I like a lot.
The story can be summarized as the classic romance/comedy with tons of quality fanservice of each girl (and they are a lot).
The characters are all likable and beautiful, the girls as always resemble the classic stereotypes that we're already used to know about. (tsundere, childhood friends, imouto, etc..).
There is no much growth in the characters behaviour either in the anime or the erogè. (well, it's not anyway a genre series that should do so)
The graphical department is top notch, I liked the design of each one of the girls. The animation is fluid, but sometimes not consistent. (you get some episodes or scene with lower quality than the rest)
The fanservice is present in each episode and is abundant, but it's not tiring or idiotic (I'm looking at you "High school of the dead").
The seiyuu working in this anime are the top of the top (Aya Hirano, Rie Kugimiya, Marina Inoue, Rie Tanaka) and the quality of the voices is pretty evident.
OP and ED are both quite catchy and I ended up watching them countless times before getting tired. I especially liked the OP "Hatsukoi Parachute" by Miyuki Hashimoto!
Obviously my favourite character is the "imouto" Minato Nagase (that is fortunately the girl he end up in the anime at the end).
She's the personification of all my dreams. (But in a really near second place we have also Yuuhi Katagiri)
Concluding, this is an anime you should watch if you're into comedy and fanservice as there is plenty of both.
See you soon,
