Hello dear visitors, Let's go ahead with a totally new review about a manga/anime that talks about a common game in the east called Mahjong. The series name is "Saki" and the manga is written by Ritz Kobayashi. (manga which I ordered in the february shipment so we'll have the cover image as soon as the package arrive here) Let's start up with the usual synopsys : Saki Miyanaga, a high school first-year student, hates mahjong because her family would always force her to play it and punish her regardless of the outcome of the game. Due to this, she learned how to keep her score at zero, neither winning nor losing, a skill said to be more difficult than actually consistently winning. However, her friend Kyōtarō from middle school, completely unaware of such circumstances, convinces her to visit the school's small mahjong club upon entering into high school. After the club discovers her ability, they recruit her permanently and convince her to win instead of breaking even. She easily does so with her skill and discovers a new love for mahjong. This leads the team to enter the prefecture's high school mahjong tournament with the goal of reaching the national high school competition. Pretty standard story for a "sport" anime, but the real focus of the series is not much about the game rules... ...but on character development and relationships. The games between them are often fantasized with battle scenes and special powers, so please don't expect the regular mahjong played between old man and woman here. (and neither the Kaiji criminal way of playing either) The characters are very numerous and all lovely, there isn't much growth in each one of them unfortunately (for now at least). Their personality is anyway well defined and you can categorize them into the classic anime girl categories. Fanservice is rampant through the series, you can even say that is integrant part of the plot, without it it would not be Saki!!! High attention has been given to the sound, the anime sports some of the most famous seiyuu around (Rie Kugimiya, Kana Ueda, Ryouko Shiraishi, etc...) and well their quality is well seen into this series.           Concluding this is an anime that everyone is looking for a fun and relaxing time should watch, See you soon, feal87 P.S. My favourite is, of course, Hajime Kunihiro!!!
