Wow, the things otaku do never fail to surprise me. When KyoAni decided to make K-ON!, I'm not sure if they had any idea of the phenomenon it would become. The moe-band anime reached heights rivaled by few, such as the production's other ventures, such as the adaptation of the  The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Light Novels.A K-ON! guitar signed by all the seiyu, the one owned by Yui Hirasawa in the anime, was put under the hammer online on Yahoo! Japan. A seller named euf02us placed the item on the listings on Jan 5th. Shockingly, it received a ¥9,999,999,999 ($120mil) bid this morning. Last year, the Japanese convenience store chain LAWSON ran a K-ON!! Fair promotional campaign from October 19 to November 29. People who spent a certain amount at LAWSON stores could go online with numbers from their store receipts to see if they won prizes. The campaign's top-level "A Prizes" were five replicas of the main character Yui's guitar. All five cast members who voiced the anime's Ho-kago Tea Time band signed the guitars. Each guitar also came with a limited-edition hard case (with an imprinted HTT logo and key), set of clear stickers, shielded cord, tuning wrench, soft case, manual, and warranty certificate.  The seller was, obviously, suspicious and re-listed the item. It ended within eight minutes with one 3,000,000-yen (US$36,000) bid.I'm still in awe. Do I find this ridiculous because I'm not a K-ON! fan or is it because I'm just a normal human being who isn't filthy rich =/ ? Source: ANN
