The Japanese publisher company Media Factory has announced that the author of light novel "MM!", Matsuno Akinari, passed away on April 18. Matsuno won the 1st Media Factory Bunko J Light Novel New Author Award and debuted with a science-fiction comedy called Aoba-kun to Uchuujin in 2005. In February 2007, Matsuno started his second series MM!, a comedy about a masochist, a sadistic girl, an androphobic girl, a creepy cross-dresser, an otaku, and other irregular characters, and it was adapted into an anime last year.The latest, 10th volume of MM! was published last September and the series will, much to the chagrin of fans, remain unfinished.The cause of death has not been revealed; however, as Matsuno Akinari was most likely in his 30s, it was an untimely death.
