The five girls' problems with supernatural beings have been solved, and it's now summer break, with the culture fair over - and so far, Araragi has been spending his time chained up in the ruins of the old cram school, apparently under the 'tender' care of Senjougahara. Or perhaps she's just teasing him. Earlier, a trip to Sengoku's house had been interrupted by a chance encounter with Mayoi...
I just finished Bakemonogatari last night, and it went straight into my list of 10/10 rated shows. I loved every moment of it. Nisemonogatari carries on pretty much exactly from where its predecessor left off - and made me think that Senjougahara had suddenly decided to give Yuno Gasai a run for her money in the yandere stakes, before moving on to give us an overdose of cuteness through an encounter with Mayoi.
This season seems to be promising to do more with Araragi's sisters - the 'official' episode summary on Crunchyroll certainly seemed to indicate that, as does the title for the arc - but besides a little banter with Tsukihi, there's not much of them. But hey, Senjougahara teasing Araragi. That's my wshed fulfilled right there.
THE GOOD: Doesn't mess with the feel of the first season, and brings back the characters we know and love from it. And of course, that SHAFT look and feel, which I love...
THE BAD: For the second time today, I can honestly say: Nothing, so far.
I'm probably a bit biased - Bakemonogatari hit me hard, making me a huge fan very quickly; unless it completely departed from the idea and style of the first season, I was never not going to like Nisemonogatari. And it completely lives up to expectations. Highly recommended, and I can't wait to see more of it...
