I just can't stand the main character. It's been three episodes and she still hasn't shown that she has a personality beyond shouting "EEEEHHHH?!" and being a general airhead. Showing that a character is basically perfect does not endear me to them. No one is perfect, and I like my characters a bit flawed so that there's the possibility of growth throughout the show. But if the problem was just that, then I probably wouldn't be dropping it; usually I find at least one thing to enjoy. For example, I'm still watching Guilty Crown because I enjoy the secondary characters far more than the leads. But I don't like the secondary characters in this show either. They're just as bland and shallow as the main. It also doesn't help that the plot is a mishmash of things from better shows. I know that not everything out of the box can be original, but the show seems so convinced that its audience is already captivated by its reused premise and shallow characters that it has yet to do anything different. If I don't care about the characters, then I don't feel any concern for their situation, which is where this show fails for me. At first I thought that twelve episodes wouldn't be too bad, but the second half has already been announced, so no. I'm done. Image from Hulu.com.
