After watching Episode 13 (Final) of the series, I was relieved. First, only Finé died, second, everyone is happy, and finally, Miku had the same route as Hibiki — which I found interesting. Let’s discuss the characters and then the plot to see why the rest of you who watched this series call this show a “so bad it’s good” anime — even answering /a/’s question: “Why this anime is the biggest disappointment for most of /a/?” [[MORE]] Characters Who are they, how did they do, and who are they now? Tachibana Hibiki - she’s similar to Yui Hirasawa in some ways (read: Klutz). Her cheerful personality was not beaten by her berserk side. She gives a smile to the people she met — like for example, Miku, Kurisu and Tsubasa. We can’t deny that she’s the main character for the series, even though we came for Nana Mizuki and/or Zwei Wing. Zwei Wing: Cool, we’re the star of the show! Hibiki: B-b-but I’m the heroine of the series, right? Director: Yes, Hibiki — that’s why Kanade has to die for you. Kanade: (;_;) Tsubasa: (;__;) Director: …and Hibiki, we’ll spill some pomegranate juice of yours. Hibiki: EEEEEHHHHH?! Kazenari Tsubasa - the shy-turned-suicidal one. After losing Kanade, we saw a similar character to her, one that treat herself as a weapon (and not as a human, although yes, it’s self-denial): Saya from Blood-C. Most of us didn’t fail to notice it. You know Zwei Wing — They’re like Puffy AmiYumi, [Friends Forever]. But the director said such. Tsubasa is a normal person — one does not simply go suicidal because of a useless reason. Tsubasa: (to Hibiki) I hate you because Kanade died because of you. Kurisu: Banzai! I’m here to screw you up! **Tsubasa faces a near-death situation** Tsubasa: (wakes up while floating in space) Where am I? Is that you, my love Kanade? Kanade: Why, yes you are in space. Also, please don’t hate Hibiki. I have a part of my relic in her chest, ok? Tsubasa: O-ok. Yukine Kurisu - I stayed for this girl. She was once lost, but she’s now found. She lived as a slave and hated all the adults in the world (and probably the ones who inflict injuries to others). She lived for the wrong reason, but then she found the love (not just this Ryouko Sakirai / Finé - look at this one. She said she met the creator and fallen in love but the Curse of Balal (read the history of the Tower of Babel in the sacred scriptures) forbids her to speak to God. What?! (yes, I know this is fiction, but) We can talk to the creator twice a week (not just me, but Overlord Gomez too). I liked her humor as Ryouko but hated her nudity as Finé. After Finé turned to ashes, I felt like I miss Ryuoko. Goodness, I’m Sawashed again. Amou Kanade - she died too fast, what can we talk about her aside from being with Tsubasa all the time (read: Including in her dreams)? Kohinata Miku - if Hibiki’s a klutz, Miku is her older sister, full-time supporter and best friend of the girl. I like how she reacts to situations, apparently. Itaba Yumi and company - …headed by Oribe Yasuna is the anime meta girls. I like how they pull them off, even if it’s pretty terrible to do so. Episode 11 was their best shot. Yes, it can’t be denied that they might be too annoying for most viewers. Yumi: How to be in an anime like Kill me Baby? company: Let’s look for an assassin — oh look, it’s Berserk Hibiki! Yumi: Boom! Genjuurou - we love him for the Bruce Lee homage and the martial arts skills. This guy knows something about Finé and Kurisu, but that was not discovered somehow. Why is this the biggest disappointment for this season? …especially in /a/? First, the Berserk Hibiki we saw on Episode one. There’s something lacking in her — it’s the failed execution that made us pissed off. We saw Berserk Hibiki many times — including in the last episodes, where she is penetrating the powers of Durandal sandal schmandal, only to whip up a finishing move which has the same title as Nana Mizuki’s latest single — the Synchrogazer. Second, we don’t know what will happen in the next episode — unless we go to the show’s website and look at the small images of the next scenes. Finally, why force my Ao-chan to ing like that? Poor Ao-chan. Other notes I won’t do a rundown for this. Please watch the final episode like everyone else. This show is good for the musical arrangements, sans Hibiki’s Yui-ness.
