Evangelion´s Mari Makinami: Welcome to SF! I will get this app to see whats the deal, but seems interesting. Nothing bad on having Mari inside my iphone. Mari Makinami Illustrious, an Evangelion humanoid pilot from the "Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance" animated feature, now offers an audio tour around San Francisco. Kayac Inc. said it released the EvaNavi SF iPhone audio app that provides guidance for about 60 famous spots around the U.S. city. The audio guide is voiced by Trina Nishimura, a voice actress who portrays Mari in the English version of the anime feature. The app focuses on spots and facilities associated with Japanese pop culture in San Francisco. The hotspots covered in the audio guide include New People, a cultural hub that offers tips on Japanese fashion and cinema in Japantown, anime-themed Hotel Tomo, the Cartoon Art Museum, Blowfish Sushi to Die For restaurant and other places. The app was released in association with the 4th J-Pop Summit Festival held Aug. 25-26 in the city. The annual event is devoted to Japanese anime, manga, fashion, music, films, video games and other pop culture trends. This year, the festival offered various Evangelion-themed events held for the first time in the United States, including the Evangelion World Stamp Rally. via ASAHI http://ajw.asahi.com/article/cool_japan/anime_news/AJ201209060055
