Certainly, there were many cosplayers at Cosfest 2008, but one anime was certainly over-represented...with at least 4 (read: four) groups separately doing cosplays for it. The anime I am referring to is of course D.Gray-man. What is DGM now, the new Bleach?Well guess what, Narutards and DGM fanboys/fangirls, Bleach is still in da house. I admit, I am a Bleachtard fan. But seriously, the Bleach group and its separate cosplayers combined as a whole were the best cosplay group out of all those present at Day 1. So eat dirt, DGM.Photo-intensive, forewarned are ye.First shot of the group. From left to right, Yami (Diez Espada), Stark (rumored Uno Espada), Apache (rumored Tres Espada, Halibel's Fraccion), Nel (ex-Espada, squatting in green), Ulquiorra (Cuatro Espada), Ruppi (ex-Sexta Espada), Aaroniero Alulueiro (Nueve Espada), Zommari Leroux (Siete Espada). Forgive my poor Spanish, I bet Bleach said certain numbers differently to fit in with the context. I kept seeing them inside and outside of the D'Marquee, so of course, I kept snapping away. More shots below, internal and outdoors.Kuchiki Byakuya, Roku-buntai Taicho. Not of the Bleach group, but he did later join them for a bit at the end. Pretty good cosplayer too. Half of a battle scene in the D'Marquee. You see Ishida Uryuu (Quincy), Tousen Kaname (ex-Kyuu-buntai Taicho, now defected to Aizen's faction), and Juusan-buntai Taicho Ukitake Jyuushiro is hidden behind Tousen. The other half. Aaroniro, Tousen (he moved over), Zommari, Ulquiorra, Yami, Avalon (rumored Dos Espada) and Stark. Hollow Mask Ichigo joins in, with Ishida clearly visible and Ukitake still hidden.Luppi and Apache. I swear, Apache is also one of the best cosplayers there. She has the attitude in photos, and her looks is almost exactly like Apache in the anime and manga, down to the color and face. Two thumbs up, and more if I could. Also pretty cute in her own way. Group shot taken inside D'Marquee. The new guitarists - Tousen and Ishida.Who says the Espada can't play guitars too?He may not be able to see, but he sure can still sing.Ichigo defends Nel. I look forward to the part where she defends him.Soi Fong (Nii-buntai Taicho) appears. Also a good cosplayer, I must admit. The following are all group shots taken at the end of the day outside the D'Marquee. I took a lot so you can view them all at my Cosfest album, and will only put a few here.Certainly, the first day was a blast, and I look forward to even better things on the second, with the World Cosplay Summit being its main event. Look forward to more coverage from me, and hopefully, I can take better pictures of certain good cosplayers and with them as well this time round.Bleachtard fan,Panther
