...So sayeth the official blog for the Bleach musicals, anyway. The official title is actually ROCK MUSICAL BLEACH, and apparently the show is returning to the stage this coming winter. Not only that, but the musical-- which has always relied heavily on spectacle, as so many musicals based on extremely popular franchises so often do –is reportedly getting “scaled up.” Other details like date, location, cast, et cetera are still pending. The picture to the left here is of a past cast-- I don't know if stage shows keep consistent with casting when possible like anime do, so I don't know if any of these people will appear in the new show. But it gives you a sense of what the characters look like on stage, at least.Next time I go to Japan, I definitely want to see one of these anime stage musicals. It almost doesn't matter which...although Bleach has such an awesome soundtrack in general that I'd probably trust its stage show to have the best music. I'm really curious as to what it's like! (I'd also still really love to see the Takarazuka Phoenix Wright show.)
