We've come to the point where we have to bade farewell to our beloved little master and his one hell of a butler. I actually watched this episode in remorse, knowing it was the last episode I can enjoy of Kuroshitsuji. Indeed, it has been a good series albeit some draggy fillers. The episode starts right where it left off with Sebastian and Ciel now on a little boat heading to the incomplete Heaven's Gate which does not look heavenly at all by the way.Ciel gives his final order to Sebastian to get kill Ash/Angela. It doesn't look good for Sebastian at all, especially with all the poor unfortunate souls under Ash/Angela's control. But kudos to our shinigami team who tirelessly went on with their task in cleaning up the city. The wasn't much souls to aid Ash/Angela. So he/she tries to summon the Demon Dog instead. However, even the Demon Dog has been defeated by the servants gang. Furious, he/she strikes out in a mad frenzy.Sebastian manages to shield his master from harm though not without repercussions. He decided that it was time for him to show his true strength but first, close your eyes master. I don't want you to see me all evil. A fierce fight ensues and Ciel was thrown over the ledge. He manages to grab on for dear life and Sebastian promises to him that he would finish the fight in a few more seconds. Which he did. Much to his surprise, Ciel smiled in relief and lets go. On his way down into the cold waters, his cinematic record bursts out. I guess he has been holding on too long despite his injury as well. But Sebastian jumps in to save our poor little master. In the meantime, things were looking better in the city. The fires had been put out, Agni and Soma were also there to give out Sebastian's award-winning curry buns. The Queen makes her appearance for the sake of her people (who is she??? O_o). And Lizzie was brooding in her concern over Ciel but thankfully she has her maid to keep her spirits up.So where is Ciel? Sebastian was rowing him to an unknown place. In the river, he sees films of his life played out. Turns out his father had always known that the Queen was plotting against him. However he wanted to keep it a secret from Ciel so that Ciel grows up without hatred. Sorry Dad, he did the complete opposite. They arrive at an unknown island and Sebastian carries him to a stone bench in the middle of a clearing. Even at the end, our little master remains his bratty self and orders Sebastian not to go easy on him. The ending is marvelous. Though it was sad that Ciel has to die, but I guess I should accept that fact since it has been stated in the contract right from the start. I'm amazed at our little boy's bravery to knowingly let go of his life. But I guess he has been tired of living a life of hatred and destruction and was all the more willing to let it all go now that his mission was accomplished. But seriously, who's that Queen?
