Mikoto, Kuroko and Kazari close in on the origins of the Level Upper as Ruiko falls victim to the device.Kuroko: Come on. Listen to my debut album featuring my rendition of Whitney Houston's "I'll always love you".Kazari: NOOOOOOOO!!!!Summary:Kuroko and Kazari continue with their investigation of the Level Upper, although both of them have a hard time believing that a piece of music is cause of everything. While Kuroko goes to handle all the Level Upper users who are causing trouble, Kazari phones Kiyama for advice and Kiyama states that there is a device called Testament that can raise someone's special abilities by stimulating all senses, so using music to do so could be possible. After the call with Kiyama, Kazari tries to phone Ruiko but Ruiko's phone is not on.I hope Judgment covers my medical fees.A perfect opportunity for Kuroko to "get along" with Mikoto.Kuroko returns to the Judgment office sore and bruised from fighting all the troublemakers. Kuroko and Kazari are then visited by Mikoto who after hearing all the info suggests that maybe Level Upper music can indirectly stimulate the other sense like how shaved ice causes brain freeze. Kazari decides to phone Kiyama again to tell her about Mikoto's suggestion, and Kiyama agrees to to request Tree Diagram to investigate the possibility. Kazari also wants to see Tree Diagram in action, and Kiyama agrees to let Kazari come to her office.Little late to be sorry.Elsewhere in a park, Ruiko and her three friends are playing around with their new found telekinesis abilities gained from using the Level Upper. As Ruiko debates whether or not to tell Kazari, suddenly one of her friends faints. Later back in her apartment, Ruiko calls Kazari to tell her about what happened. Ruiko states that she's a second rate person who deserves to fall into a coma for what she did, but Kazari emotionally disagrees and promises that she'll wake Ruiko and all the other victims up. After Ruiko hangs up, Kazari rushes to Ruiko's apartment and finds that Ruiko has already fallen into a coma.Mikoto got turned on by the Heaven Canceler. Ewww...Later in the day Mikoto and Kuroko visit Ruiko at the hospital. After seeing Ruiko falling victim to the Level Upper, Mikoto wants to help with the investigation and Kuroko is okay with it. As Mikoto and Kuroko are about to leave the hospital, they are called to the office of the frog-faced doctor Heaven Canceler. Heaven Canceler shows the girls that all of the comatose victims of the Level Upper have the same brainwave pattern and suggests that maybe someone has taken over these people's brains. With this new information, Mikoto and Kuroko return to Judgment office. Mikoto and Kuroko along with Kunori begin to search through the city's database for brainwave patterns matching those of the victims', and to their shock the person with a matching pattern is Kiyama. Even worse, Kazari is at Kiyama's office which means Kiyama has a hostage. Since Kuroko is still pretty beat up, Mikoto decides that she'll be the one to go after Kiyama. In this world, Macs and PCs are one.And why would Outel Cora i7 PC be designed for Macinindows EXP and not Macindows BST or 7?I never realized the interior of a Lamborghini was so spacious. While everything has been happening in the Judgment office, Kazari has been waiting in Kiyama's office. Kazari notices a paper sticking out of a drawer and takes a peek, and in the process she discovers many binders of research related to brain synchronization. Kazari's actions are discovered by Kiyama, and Kiyama handcuffs Kazari and takes the young Judgment member on a ride in her sports car. Kazari wonders what Kiyama is trying to achieve by taking over the brains of other people, and Kiyama states that she has some grand purpose behind her plans.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~So the plot and culprit are finally revealed, and next week should be the main action component of the story arc. There was a fair bit of explanations in this episode regarding how the Level Upper works and what it may be trying to achieve, but it wasn't too bad since all of the talks came during when the characters were actively investigating the matter and the talks were done in reasonable lengths instead of one big exposition as in typical Index/Railgun fashion. The main point is that Kiyama is taking over the brains of people to a build a network for some purpose, and I think that's good enough for now since anything beyond that is probably going to be incomprehensible pseudo-science.Also in this episode, Ruiko finally uses the Level Uppers and almost immediately feels the consequences. I feel sorry for Kazari (for having to worry about Ruiko), but not so much for Ruiko herself. I understand the part about Ruiko using the Level Upper because some of her friends have cool powers and she doesn't, but it was pretty irresponsible for her give the Level Upper to her upper friends and cause them to go comatose as well. This is especially bad considering that Kuroko and Kazari mentioned in front of Ruiko that using the Level Upper can be harmful. Ruiko is kind of getting what she deserves... and by that I mean she's going to take a bit of nap but will be alright eventually and learn her lesson. As for the rest of the episode, I liked the montage of Kuroko beating up various idiots who thinks they are invincible after using the Level Upper. The screen of Mikoto taking an attraction to Heaven Canceler was pretty funny too. Anyways, the arc will probably end within the next 2-3 episodes, and based on what I've seen in the manga it should be a pretty good battle between Mikoto and Kiyama.
