Amagami SS
Score: 3/5
Review: Second year high school student Junichi Tachibana spends his days inside his closet planetarium, going to school, and hanging out with his friends. After a chance encounter with one of the most beautiful girls in school, the third year student Morishima Haruka, Junichi finds himself spending time with her, and eventually developing feelings for her.
Amagami SS is a typical slice of life high school romance show, which is to say very slow paced. There isn't a lot that really happens in this episode, but this is saved by it actually managing to be funny at times. But if your tolerance for slow paced high school romance series is low, than I can't imagine anything could convince you to watch this series. That being said, one thing the series does having going for it is that Junichi, the male lead, isn't exactly a spineless wimp. By the end of the episode he does manage to confess his feelings to the girl he likes, though he doesn't get the results he expected considering how forward the girl was being with him the entire episode. There really isn't much more to say considering how very little went on in this episode.
It seems like it could turn out to be a decent romance series, with a mild bit of fanservice if you're into that sort of thing. The only problem is the sheer number of girls that were introduced in this episode. It might start heading in a harem direction, which would be frustrating since it shows promise as a romance and would benefit if it just focused on one girl. It's certainly worth checking out if you're able to tolerate slow paced high school romance.
