Classifying this as "newsy" might be a mild misnomer, but as the sun occasionally peeks at me through my office window and we start nearing Valentine's Day, the nearness of spring begins to dawn on me.Oh, and also, Comic Natalie has reported on the upcoming new spring anime adaptation of Arakawa Under the Bridge. I was already excited for this project because the manga is drawn by Hikaru Nakamura, known to some as the author of the seinen manga Saint Onii-san, a comedy about Jesus and Buddha living together as roommates in modern Japan as a "vacation." (Random sidenote: Nakamura's birthday is exactly one day before mine, year and all.) Arakawa Under the Bridge is a gag manga about a young man who refuses to be in anyone's debt-- until a strange girl saves his life. The girl thinks she's a martian and lives under a bridge at the Arakawa River, so the man decides to join her.Sound interesting? A couple of key visuals for the anime have now been posted-- and they're both quite different from one another, interestingly. I find myself all the more intrigued. How about you?
