Since I won’t be formally reviewing Clannad After Story, I’ll take the opportunity to express a few thoughts about it in the much less rigid format of the blog article. I think it’s not unfair to say it’s a different anime to its predecessor, particularly with regards to tone, since the drama in this [...]

Picture relevant, because Kyou-sensei is win. Warning: inb4 spoilers. Do not pass go, do not collect $200 if you do not want to be spoiled. I don’t normally do this, but Clannad is one thing for which I will make an exception.
Wow, it’s been months since I’ve made a Clannad post. I stopped watching around [...]

Episode 20:
Fuko fuko fuko falalalala! Once again it’s great to see Fuko in the episode and this time we get to see her with more of a role and her starfish obsession has evidently returned. I don’t know why I always seem to be the only one who is thrilled whenever she appears on screen [...]

This episode begins with the doctor giving his prognosis for Ushio, she has the same illness as Nagisa and it will probable progress as it did with Nagisa. Tomoya asks the doctor why this is happening when Ushio was perfectly healthy until now? He has no answer for Tomoya. When Akio senses that Tomoya [...]

After the ending to the last episode of After Story, with Ushio collapsing through illness, it was pretty apparent that this wasn't going to be the most cheerful of episodes, but boy was this penultimate episode of the series proper depressing even by those standards. As we'd half-expected, Ushio's illness is confirmed to be the same mysterious disease that afflicted Nagisa, leaving Ushio entirely

03/06/2009 02:47 PM UTCClannad ~AfterStory~ episode 20 - it’s happened again. >>
I apologize for my late post - I’ve been preparing for my Grade 8 piano examination that ended just today. Apparently, my excruciating effort had not been worth it after all. Things turned out bad, by some trick of Fate’s sardonic wit.
Anyhow, back to it.
Nagisa seems to be making a comeback somehow, hinted in this [...]

クラナド アフターストーリー Episode 20SPOILER Summary/Synopsis: Tomoya takes Ushio to school to meet her teacher and is amazed to see a giant boar waiting for them there. S-s-stupid. It’s not that I’m happy to see Papa or anything…
As I clear my backlog which included two episodes of Clannad, Kyou’s appearance was a much needed breath of fresh air that the show desperately needed, given the melodramatic nature of the anime following Nagisa’s demise. Having Ushio falling ill has convinced me more than [...]

This episode begins with Tomoya and Ushio continuing the process of learning how to live together as father and daughter. Soon, Ushio’s school break is over, Tomoya walks her to school, and to his surprise he sees Ushio run over to a giant boar and give it a hug. After Tomoya’s shock wears off, he [...]

After the re-introduction of Fuuko-chan, Episode 20 seems to have gotten a good more of her in action. Episode 20, although is a more or less happy episode, there’s actually a hidden meaning behind it.
Kyou also makes an appearance, as none other than Ushio-chan’s kindergarden teacher. I’m sure people who’ve watched the OP many times [...]

Episode: Clannad Episode 20
Pleasant days have finally come to Tomoya's apartment when Ushio moved in. The parent-child love has grown between them and they finally live peaceful days supporting each other as it should be. Well, it shouldn't be like that, somebody is missing there. Somebody who did everything possible to make this actual situtation come true, but never got the chance to be part of it. Still, that person is watching over them and even now she is definitely doing her best to safeguard them.Tomoya meets Ushio's teacher who has been away the last week and he is very surprised about the fact that Ushio's teacher is Kyou. He finds out that despite this, Ushio knows nothing about the fact that Kyou was a friend of her mom. Tomoya tells Ushio that Kyou used to be a violent girl and that she bullied him. Kyou gets angry, but he has got the point, hasn't he?Kyou tells Tomoya that Ryou, Kotomi, and Youhei are worried about him, but they all thought that it would be better to leave him alone for some time. Then, we hear song Ushio from Clannad OSTs, but this is a modified version with lyrics and a little bit slowed down. It sounds really sad and has quite a big emotional impact, but it isn't a match for the song that comes next. When Ushio and Tomoya are lying in bed and about to fall asleep, Ushio wants Papa to sing Mama's favorite song. Tomoya starts to sing, of course, it's the song that comes to mind when thinking about Nagisa. At first, I burst into laugh, but when the real song began to play and there was a view at photo of Nagisa I burst into tears. It had a very strong emotional impact on me, and I'm sure that not only on me but on everyone.Fuuko has decided to befriend Ushio and goes to visit her on Sunday. She brings a starfish bread made by Furukawa-san as a present for Ushio. I was worried about Ushio when she ate it, but it seemed that the bread was baked by Akki because it had no special effect on Ushio and she liked it.Tomoya trains for Sports Day at kindergarten because he is challenged by Akio for a relay race and Akio has decided that Tomoya will be the anchor, same as him, except for the fact that Tomoya is on the parent's team but Akki is on teacher's team as a substitute.A few days later, Ushio is on a stroll and she meets Fuuko. Ushio leads her to her beloved place. And that place is the ground of the new hospital built on the meadow where Akio used to go. The place which gave Nagisa a second chance to live. Ushio says that she's attracted to this place for some reason, but she doesn't exactly know why.The day of the Sports Day is about to come, but on the Sports Day eve a horrible thing happens. Ushio falls ill with a high fever... does she have the same illness as her mom, what future is awaiting her and the others? Will those tragic days repeat? Will all the happiness disappear again? We shall see, we shall be worried, we shall feel angst, we shall cry, but we will not be able to do anything else...Somehow, when I was writing this post, I unintentionally wrote Nagisa instead of Ushio a few times... Strange, isn't it? And a little sad.

First of all I’d like to express how much I lol’ed at this scene, and how aliens was the subject of the conversation there. The gags in this series are just ingenious.
Kyou as a kindergarten teacher. Certainly suits her. Something that I can’t help but wonder however in this series is the atmosphere surrounding Tomoya [...]

Many, many moons (well, OK, about a year) ago, Totali tried to convince me that a Mikan Box appeared in Clannad episode 21. On that occasion, he was proved to be foolish, given that the box in question had an apple on it, clearly making it a Ringo box. Silly Totali.
That said, it turns out [...]
