I'm starting to see a trend here. Well, as the title may suggest, Seven Seas have swooped in and announced the rescue of several abandoned manga titles. Seven Seas Entertainment, who you probably know for their release of the occasionally controversial loli-pire work, Dance in the Vampire Bund, has decided to keep their trend of dark, loli works alive. Blood Alone and Gunslinger Girl, which I've detailed below, will see a three-volume-in-one omnibus, compiling all of the work their previous translators had finished. Afterward, they'll begin rolling out the newer volumes, that have yet to see an official release. That said, having researched these titles for the article, I'm kind of excited for both. Blood Alone Kuroe Kurose - Former Vampire hunter turned best-selling author, Kuroe Kurose has begun to care for a young girl who has recently turned into a vampire. He moonlights as a private detective, and this often puts him in direct confrontation with various types of undead monsters. Meanwhile, Misaki Minato, the vampire youth, struggles with vampirish nature, as well as her growing infatuation to Kurose. Title: Blood Alone Produced: 2005-ongoing Originally Distributed by: Infinity Studios Volumes: 6+ SOLD. Not only is the guy a former vampire hunter, but he's a writer. How cool is that?!? Plus you have the dynamic that he has begun to care for a vampire girl, who contrasts her feelings of gratitude with infatuation for our cool, calm protagonist Gunslinger Girl In the heart of Italy, the Social Welfare Agency rescues young girls from hospital beds and gives them a second chance at life using the latest in cybernetic advancements. With their artificially enhanced bodies, the girls are brainwashed and trained as assassins to carry out the dirty work of the Italian Government. Despite all the modifications, they are still just children at heart, struggling for recognition from those they love, even knowing the love they feel is manufactured. This tragic tale unfolds as these girls grapple with their emotions in an agency that treats them as nothing but ruthless killers. Title: Gunslinger Girl Originally Published: 2002-current Original Distributor: ADV Number of Volumes: 11+ You've probably heard of Gunslinger Girl before. The story of Italian youths converted into violin carrying assassins has already been turned into a two season anime (distributed by FUNimation.) That said, while the series seemed a little dry, I think such source material could work considerably better as a manga
