It took me a while to realize and all, but Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi actually has a very good soundtrack. Its dreamlike tunes are just the perfect touch that this series needs on top of what it already does right: its thought-provoking themes and charming characters. This series really does its random stories right: it [...]

Okay…so Scar became some girl’s mother…it’s only weird if we make it weird, right? Well, at least we’re done with Ortus. On to the next place. It’s slightly refreshing to know that Ulla is completely oblivious…but I guess her role is done. I guess the direction of the show is something like Tsubasa? They just […]

Well that was certainly a touching conclusion to the Ortus Arc. Kiriko got a three-some hug between Ai and Ulla, and to top it all off, Scar adopted Ulla’s older sister whose time was frozen… and now their group members look a lot more like a family sitcom: a rambunctious/adventurous daughter in Ai, a kind-hearted [Absolute Territory: An Anime Blog]

It's a rich and beautifully painted world. The plot has its share of hiccups, but the setting and the resulting moral dilemmas are a sight to behold.

Satisfactory conclusion to the arc. The reveal ended up being more simplistic than i expected, but arguably this choice was for the best since the simplicity allowed containment that prevented dragging which could have ruined what overall was a great … Continue reading →The post Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi: Deception and Acceptance appeared first on MDZANIME.

More adventures in the land of the dead. Ai turns out not to be completely useless…since she can actually tell that Ulla is alive. Maybe she’s really part gravekeeper after all. Ulla seems to be the typical trapped goddess…worshiped for her powers, but not really wanting the attention or something. I find no other reason […]

Improving by the episode. The development of Ortus has gone very smoothly and as a result has made this episode even more enjoyable than the last, as the setting continues to expand itself. I just realized: plastic surgery probably became even more lucrative with the founding of Ortus.

Wow…Ai really fails as a gravekeeper, huh? You’d think she’d at least be able to hear some whispers or have some sense of death like Scar…she seems basically human. Anyway, new character Kiriko shows up…is he actually dead? Scar didn’t react until they reached the town…she seems blunt enough to point it out immediately if [...]

This series could have gone wrong so easily. Seriously, from the outside it looks like your average show with a bishie and a cute girl, but it’s just consistently interesting. What this show is really good at is playing with the motivations of its characters: everyone here has this interesting backstory. And it just keeps [...]

The setting becomes even more interesting. After last episodes emotional ending, this episode became essential in dictating the direction which this series would take, and the choice made was quite interesting. Instead of addressing possible concerns [characters], this episode gave … Continue reading →The post Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi: Direction and Expansion appeared first on MDZANIME.
