I really can’t explain how much I love this episode. xD The moment I saw the preview last week, I was 100% positive that I’d love this episode. Let’s just say I’m a sucker for Chizuru’s hidden feelings for Masaki. Sometimes I really do I just wonder why is it that Masaki never notices that [...]

Woot! After an enjoyable first season, Kimi to Boku is back! I miss this anime, and i’m sure everyone else misses some of their favourite characters in the show as well. The atmosphere of the show is still the same which is a good thing and it’s very relaxing. Sure the relaxing part can’t be [...]

I understand why people dismiss this series for being a gender swap of the most run-down cliché in the cutesy anime genre. But for me it works, and I never had a dull moment. But does it take for a new comer to jump in now? Nope. Better watch the first season. For me, this pointless conversation [...]

Episode: Kimi to Boku Episode 2
They're still one of the best parts of this show.
While it's no Daily Lives of High School Boys (that show is god-tier) I still can't help but love Kimi to Boku. Despite my complaints when I blogged the first season, I did get pretty attached to the characters and I'm really glad to see them again. However, I did hope that the show would fix some of the problems that the first season had, and going by this first epiosde... They didn't. The animation frequently goes off model; just look at the opening scene! They're sitting around eating tangerines, I can't imagine that this costs a lot to animate. I don't think I'm asking for a lot here, I would just like their faces to continue looking like faces and their hands keep looking like hands no matter what distance we're viewing the characters from. Putting that complaint aside, I also thought that the pacing for this episode dragged a bit as well. It felt much longer than twenty-four minutes. A lot of the scenes felt like they were extended way beyond their natural stopping point to pad it for time. Maybe it was shorter in the manga?
But like I said earlier, I can't help but love this show anyway. The episode was a re-introduction to the character dynamics of the central group, standard stuff for a second season. Even with the incredibly neutral set-up (they all stay at Kaname's house for the night) it's clear that this is meant to be a refresher, not a replacement for the things that happened last season. There's an unspoken assumption that the viewer has seen the first season, and I hope that means that this season will skip a lot of the fluff (as fun as it was the first time around) and get to the good stuff faster. They mentioned Yuta's former relationship, which was my favorite episode, so I'm taking that as a good sign for the romance aspect this season. And the show does still get a few laughs from me, this time from Kaname's mother and the re-interpretation of the Greek myths. I wonder if this season can go one episode without Shun in drag. We'll see. And the cats! I still love them. Overall in seems like nothing has changed in Kimi to Boku land (even the things that I would like to see tweaked), but I'm still exicted to see where the new season will go.

Kimi to Boku
Kimi to Boku is my Favorite Fall 2011 series!! It's a really sweet and laid-back series and I can't help but fall in love with it!
Story: (10/10) – Awesome
The story revolves around four teens ? the good-looking twins Asaba Yuuta and Yuuki, the effeminate Matsuoka Shun, and the class head Tsukahara Kaname who have known each other since kindergarten. While they are not necessarily good or bad friends, they continue to hang out well into high school. The half-Japanese transfer student Tachibana Chizuru joins the circle of friends in this comedy about the everyday life of adolescence.
What I really like about Kimi to Boku is that the story is simple, laid back, and very easy to relate to. It's a slice of life that revolves around the theme of growing up and friendships. Through the happenings around them, the various protagonists reminisce the past and their experiences from more than 10 years ago which still have strong influences on what is happening "now" in their lives.
Character: (10/10) – Awesome
All the boys (yes.. even Noisy Chizuru) are so lovable!! I love their personalities and their interactions with one another!
In each episode, we learn a little about the boys through the happenings now and their past. Though some of the happenings and flashbacks may seem insignificant or unimportant, they hold precious place in their hearts and eventually, in my heart too. Some of their flashbacks remind me of my kindergarten days and it gives a feeling of nostalgia.
Favorite Characters:
Yuuki - He's the younger one of the twins. He's the less talkative but more playful one. He has a really cool personality too.
Yuuta - He's the elder one of the twins and he's also the most mature out of the 5 boys. He's also really caring and sensitive.
Kaname - He's such a cute Tsundere. I love his reactions to the boys' provocations (in particular, Yuuki's! ^^)
Shun - I like him much better in his short hair. He totally looks like a girl with long hair.
Chizuru - He's very cute when he's young! Now, he's noisy and irritating at most of the times but he can be very caring at times too (especially towards the girl he likes -.^).
Art/Animation: (9/10) – Very Good
I love the art and character designs. It's simple and beautiful. I love the different illustrations in the Ending theme sequence (really melts my heart!).
Music: (10/10) – Awesome
Very nice choice of Opening and Ending themes. I especially like the Ending theme and its sequence (nice illustrations!!). I love the background music played during some scenes too!
Enjoyment: (10/10) – Awesome
Many say that Kimi to Boku is a little slow in pace, but I personally don't think so. I find the pacing perfect for a mellow and simple series like Kimi to Boku. I enjoy this series thoroughly and am looking forward to Season 2!!
Overall: (9/10) – Very Good
This is a must see for all who likes slice of life series!
