Episode: Kotoura-san Episode 6
Kotoura invites Manabe, Mifune, Kuroto and Moritani to her family home for summer vacation. Upon arriving in the town they are escorted via limousine to an abandoned hospital, within which is “Kotouraland”, a theme park her grandfather built. The next day they relax on the Kotoura private beach, and Manabe saves Kotoura from the ocean [...]

Another episode with no drama. I’m liking this, it’s all about Kotoura experiencing the happiness with friends she never had… and she should enjoy as much as she can because… Look who decided to show up. D:

This episode was mostly alright. After Moritani joins the ESP Society, the status quo doesn’t change a bit, as everything is back to how it normally was. It would’ve been...

Kotoura-san Attracts Tourists to the Town of Kotoura! According to Yomiuri Newspaper, the town of Kotoura in Tottori prefecture has been collaborating with the Kotoura-san manga and anime since last year to promote their tourism. Posters, goods, and original Kotoura-san manga introducing the special products of the town have been sold at the Kotoura Tourism Association office. After the beginning of the TV series, the name card sets featuring Kotoura-san have been flying off the shelves and the tourist bureau of the town is planning more collaboration projects. Although Kotura is not the model town of Kotoura-san, the author decided to title the manga after the town. One key data is that while 19400 copies of the name card were sold in the six months before the anime started, in the one month after the anime aired it sold 27100 copies, so the monthly sales of the name card jumped NINE TIMES after the anime started. The news article also mentioned fans who took overnight train from Tokyo to visit this remote town Kotoura. Manabe has been acting weird ever since Kotoura disappeared. Yuriko dragged him to the clubroom and said that they already located Kotoura’s whereabouts. So the ESP Society went on a fieldwork to hunt her down. With nowhere to stay for the night, they went to a temple where they met the head priest. Luckily, the … Continue reading »

Haruka has the best smile Welcome back readers to another week of fun with Kotoura-san! Yes I said fun because this episode favors more of the lighthearted comedy versus the whole drama-fest that has happened in the last four episodes, but I have my hopes that it will shift back to the drama moments later [...]

Drama maybe central to Kotoura-san, but you can forget about it with this episode. Although I doubt this episode marks a shift in tone for the series, it’s certainly a welcome change of pace. No drama, just school slice-of-life comedy with a romantic subplot. Essentially, this is what I thought the series was going to [...]

Welp… looks like Moritani easily wormed her way into their circle. For a change of pace, unlike the first four episodes, this one was devoid of DORAMA. It was all fun and games, I liked it. Of course, my only problem was Moritani easily becoming part of the group after what she had done. Like [...]

Kotoura returns to school. Moritani is nice to her and she joins the ESP Society, using her Moritani Fighting Style to snuff out candles as proof of “psychokinesis”. They have a sleepover party at Kotoura’s new apartment, and when Kotoura falls off the bed and onto Manabe, Yuriko snaps a pic. Manabe gives Kotoura an embarrassing picture [...]

What’s one way to end a show really quickly? Well for starters, you can try killing the main character and see what happens. This episode is an episode full of happy stuff so no more tear jerkers and sometimes (albeit forced) drama. And when Kotoura-san decides to have happy stuff, they have happy stuff. Like … Continue reading →
