Comic Natalie reports that Moyashimon, everyone's favorite agricultural manga and anime about a guy who can see and talk to micro-organisms, is getting a series of picture books. The first picture book is due out August 28 and is titled “Ehon Moyashimon Kin no Oryzae -Te wo Araou- (Picture book Moyashimon Bacterium Oryzae -Let's Wash our Hands-). Eight books are planned so far, and they'll come out every other month. The books are decidedly aimed at kids. That's a little weird to most western fans, I think, since the manga is seinen (it runs in Kodansha's bi-weekly Evening anthology). It would be sort of like if as a tie-in, Tarantino had made a Pulp Fiction gun safety PSA picture book, right? Anyway, kid-focused or not, I can't help but wonder if some of Masayuki Ishikawa's wacky style will still find its way through. More importantly, I wonder if they'll eventually release a volume like “Shuzou wo Shiou” (let's brew sake)! <3<3<3
