Whoa, did somebody say siscon?
So, admittedly, some little evil part of me wanted him to kiss her, but then I remembered that they’re brother and sister, but then I remembered I didn’t care… but then I also remembered all the RaikouxGau stuff I found on 4ch, so, I ultimately was a ‘no’ vote on that [...]

Episode: Nabari no Ou Episode 15
Nabari no Ou is an anime I started watching for the sake of satisfying my guilty pleasure. I never thought it’d get this good and its doing nothing but getting better. Nabari isn’t like any other ninja anime I know. It’s serious and fairly realistic … and it’s heart-wrenching. We’re more than halfway through the [...]

Episode: Nabari no Ou Episode 15
In all honesty Nabari no Ou has been a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to the quality of each individual episode, but I can't help noticing that it seems to work rather better when it descends into darker territory that during those more lightweight and humorous episodes - Thus, the end of episode fourteen held plenty of promise for this instalment.
While not proving to be as action packed as

I haven´t talked about Nabari no Ou for a while, even if it´s getting better and better with every new episode. Things like Yoite and Miharu´s deepening relationship and Raikou´s flamboyant actions are too tempting to not talk about so from now on, you have to bear with weekly episode commentaries of Nabari no Ou. Is it just me, or do these episode titles make absolutely no sense whatsoever? What does “tsutawaru kokoro” have to do with the contents of this episode - and does it even make sense?
Okay, lots of things to say about this episode - mostly thinking “Kumohira-sensei is a dumbass”, really. I don’t actually [...]

Wow, it’s like an episode 7 blogging marathon round these parts at the moment!
Right, so this is the beginning of the tiny little arc involving the leader of Togakushi village, Oda, and her mind-reading forbidden art. She and her strange-temp-agency-which-isn’t-much-of-a-temp-agency recruit our intrepid heroes to assassinate an evil corporate whore named Mr Frosty. [...]

Episode: Nabari no Ou Episode 7
In typical Nabari no Ou fashion, last episode proved to be the set-up for the far more action-packed instalment offered up here, which made for what was probably one of the best episodes of this series in a while. After the confusion surrounding why Alya's student council had decided to attack their guests last time around, all now becomes clear here, with the fight for the Kouga clan's 'Daya' kinjutsu scroll becoming a four-way scrap which both Kairoshuu and Banten's collectives both get dragged well and truly into. Indeed, this state of affairs sees the two rival factions working together to defend themselves, so that once again you could argue the lack of real hostility between clans as a disappointing downside or a positive of the series as whole. The real lack of a true 'good versus evil' battle as this series has progressed has been quite refreshing, with most of the main characters on both sides turning out to be pretty likeable and largely 'just doing their job', albeit in different ways, although on the flip side of that coin the lack of 'needle' between Banten and Kairoshuu does have the unwanted side-effect of detracting from any feeling of urgency or indeed important regarding the Shinrabanshou.Overall though, this episode manages to pack in some claustrophobic action with a fair old slice of emotion, with a few shocks and some new questions being answered, to make for a pretty fast-paced episode, particularly by Nabari no Ou's occasionally lethargic standards. While things get a little confusing at times in the main scrap featured Miharu and Yoite (I just couldn't get my head around the location to be honest, leaving me frequently confused as to how characters ended up in particular places), there are plenty of good old-fashioned anime ninja show moments to keep you on the edge of your seat. The end of this instalment also brings us a pretty big (and again slightly confusing if I think about it too much) cliffhanger, which promises some big moments next episode. Once again, I find myself wishing that every episode of Nabari no Ou could have been a bit more like this rather than the on/off relationship I've enjoyed with it, but when it puts its mind to the task it rarely fails to do the job with its source material.

Episode: Nabari no Ou Episode 14
After the invites were sent out last episode, this instalment of Nabari no Ou sees representatives of both Kairoshuu and Banten make their way into the heartland of Kouga's part of Nabari, which is disguised within the real world as a top-notch private school. Of course, both factions have designs well beyond simply discussing the future of Nabari (the cause to which they have been invited), with the capture of another Kinjutsu scroll their top priority. However, it appears that they aren't the only ones with ulterior motives, as the ninja students of the Alya school appear to be subject to both in-fighting and a little double-crossing of the guests of their own...While there were bound to be some sparks flying this episode following Miharu's apparant defection to Kairoshuu, perhaps the most amusing aspect of this episode is just how civil everything remains for most of it, with everyone trying to act politely and seemingly in the best interests of Nabari as a whole to disguise their true plans. This episode also rather amusingly illustrates the difference in approach between Kairoshuu and Banten's major players, while still portraying both factors in such a way that it's hard to really label the former as 'evil' in the kind of obvious ways that they appeared to be earlier in the season.Despite saving all of its action until the end of the episode (which then leads in to episode fourteen for more of the same), this episode actually proved to be quite well-paced, and while nothing major happened for much of it the playing off of the three Nabari villages worked quite well, allowing the different approaches and wary attitude towards one another to seep through slowly but surely. Sure, it wasn't a classic episode even by this series own standards, but once again it did enough to hold my interest into the next episode at least, where it looks like we'll get much more action to reward our patience.

As we pass the half-way point of Nabari no Ou with episode 13, I’m starting to notice a subtle motif that I’ve never really paid attention to. Now, whether or not it makes a difference, I’m not sure - it could be useless information. However, just for my own curiosity, I’ll bring it up. Take [...]
