「友達なんだから」 (Tomodachi Nanda Kara)
"Because We're Friends"
Every week I can't help but be smugly happy I picked this show out from the mire of titles available this season.

Episode: Nagi no Asukara Episode 4
This week in Nagi no Asukara, it’s all about friendship, misunderstandings and chests! More specifically, this episode explored the conflict between Hikari and his classmates. It also showed how friendship played a huge role in both land and sea-dwellers’ lives. Also, I smell something ominous lurking behind Chisaki’s distance from the gang… First off, let’s […]

Last week’s episode was wonderful. This show has actually jumped over the hypewagons (this week’s incredibly Kill la Kill notwithstanding) to be one of my favorites of the season – hopefully it stays this smart and well-paced. We’ve already run … Continue reading →

As if Akari's romantic entanglement with someone from the land wasn't tough enough, we now learn that the man in question has a daughter of his own, which only succeeds in further inflaming Hikari's ire.
However, and perhaps surprisingly for him, rather than take action at the behest of said daughter and her friend, he chooses to simply walk away. Unfortunately, this isn't a habitual reaction

Holy crap, that main character! This episode really was great! I really liked how this episode elaborated on the cultural differences between the fish people and regular humans, and all of the trouble that comes with trying to hook up with someone of the other side. The star crossed lovers here are done really well [...]

Time for the pool episode? Nagi no Asukara has been a bit drama-filled to this point, but this episode lightened it up quite a bit, even with Hikari crashing around like a bull in a china shop. Not Understanding Someone needs to cool off This episode explored a lot more about Hikari, shifting the main […]

Too Old for Anime
10/19/2013 01:02 PM UTCNagi no Asukara 2, and then 3 and then Kill and Kanata 3 because they keep coming. >>
Nagi no Asukara 2 has a more cheerful mood than the first episode, well, up to a point. It looks like the only really abusive surface people are schoolchildren, and the only sea-kid who has a grudge is Hikari. The show is taking pains to show with his scrunched-up faces that he’s just young and […]

Wow, Nagi no Asukara is definitely bringing on the heat this Fall with its compelling drama and characters. These past two weeks, Nagi no Asukara was explaining the taboo of inter-species relationships while exploring the characters and their bonds with each other. There’s not much in the way of confrontations, but the way every scene […]

It seems that Hikari wants payback against the man who went out with his older sister… While I have negative feelings towards Hikari since he acts like a total bully, I understand that he is only 13. Because of that, he hasn’t matured yet, especially for the fact that his mother passed away when he […]The post Nagi no Asukara – Episode 3 – Truth about the Sea Human Rivalry appeared first on Chikorita157's Anime Blog.

Hikari's sister is in hot water (with no pun intended) now that her relationship with a boy from the surface has been discovered - as she's lectured by the elders, is she prepared to give up on her under-sea life, or instead abandon her love?
Inevitably, Hikari isn't exactly the type to leave well alone as this scenario pans out, and after a "strategy meeting" which ends up with him hearing
