She's invaded more than just English.
If anyone had any fears that Ika Musume must run out of content or replay its jokes, this season should put those fears to rest. This season is just as wacky as the first, focusing on its plethora of situational and visual gags. Easily one of the best episodes involved the English/Japanese puns, the return of the squid heads/robots, and the mishaps caused by the American scientist trio. But that's not to say that it's without its sweet moments as well; mini Ika Musume makes a return, easily winning the cutest chibi of the year award, and the final episode is another look at how Ika has "invaded" the cast's home in a way different from how she originally planned by becoming part of their family. Fans of the first season are already familiar with this formula, but there's nothing recycled about it. Instead, this season builds off of what made the first so great and succeeds at it. A must-watch for people who enjoyed her exploits the first time around. This season is also fine for newcomers, although I do recommend starting from the beginning of the first season for a double dose of the lovable invader of otaku fandom.
