Only five days left to go before we've finished the entire show! @_@ It's entirely too short, in my opinion. There's so much more content to mine through!...   ...Anyway. So Kyoko has jumped from commercial to music video straight into a lead role in a Jdrama, which is pretty phenomenal! Especially since it's a big-budget remake of a really popular show, and one of her co-stars will be none other than Ren himself! It's a good thing she seems to have straightened out whatever was up Ren's butt so they can be more friendly with one another. One of the things I find really cool about this show is how much Kyoko really and truly matures-- gradually --mostly without realizing it herself. (It's so common for a character to go into an interior monologue to explain everything they've learned about themselves. Sigh!)   I'm a little wary of all this talk of Ren needing to "improve his love acting" because it's too fake, the implication of course being that he's never really been in love, and needs to be. Ahem. Kyoko 's ability to empathize turns out to make her a pretty sharp actress from the get-go-- and she already understands a couple of the basics of improv to boot. Even Moko-san should be impressed now, and it certainly left an impression on Maria (and Lory ) as well. It's only a shame Ren wasn't there to see it...although judging from Maria's friendship with him, he'll quite probably hear about it. And while I was never all that great an actress (better suited for comedy than drama, shall we say), I can totally relate to Kyoko that it's amazing how you can get sucked into acting when you're performing with someone who is really good at what they're doing. Especially if the script is strong-- the words come so naturally it's a wonder you needed to memorize them at all. Ahem. But anyway, it's also really cool to see Ruriko mature, and to see Kyoko really get a shot to see what this whole show biz thing is all about, besides just getting revenge on Sho. I can kinda relate to the idea that something you have a really negative association with can come in handy though...but hey, we don't need to talk about my exes. Also, good for the director for not putting up with Ruriko 's spoiled little tantrum. Considering how many girls there are who would love to be in her shoes, it's amazing to me that she got so far with an attitude like that! Skip Beat episode 1 Skip Beat episode 2 Skip Beat episode 3 Today's Episode You know, I'm speaking as a former theater major here, but responding so strongly and clearly in a way that would be perfectly realistic for the character the actor chooses to play (for so it would seem to the judges) would usually earn you points. Then again, it's clear that she DID get high marks from everyone; the ever-wacky President Lory somehow saw into our Kyoko's soul to come to his decision, I guess.   Anyway, poor Kyoko; her radish rose turned into a cabbage instead. That was sarcasm, by the way. I can barely cut an apple into decent shapes, much less a freakin' daikon radish into a cabbage. Yeesh!
