Tegami Bachi Reverse is the sequel to Tegami Bachi. You can find the review of Tegami Bachi here.I love the first half of Tegami Bachi REVERSE but am quite disappointed with the second half. Though I think the ending was decent, I was hoping for a happier ending - Gauche, Sylvette, Lag and Niche live together happily ever after. To be frank, I'm not usually into "happily ever after" ending as I think it's too idealistic and unrealistic, but in the case of Tegami Bachi REVERSE, I feel for the characters a lot and hope for their happiness.Story: (8/10) – GoodLag's quest to recover Gauche's heart continues. After finding him and being attacked in return, he wakes up at Bee hive only to find that he has lost Gauche again. He must become stronger and a better Tegami Bachi in order to be able to take Gauche back the next time he finds him. Along with his loyal dingo and friend Niche, he has decided to make that dream come true and bring happiness back to Sylvette and Aria. The second half of Tegami Bachi REVERSE is mostly anime original. The anime staff did put in quite a few manga scenes but somehow they didn't choose any of my favorite manga scenes. =.=!! These are some of the scenes I really like in the manga: (*Spoiler Alert! the scene where Zazie finally met his idol Jiggy Pepper and rode on the Iron Horse ^^ (picture), and the scene where Noir said "If I could, I want to become him (Gauche)." (v.v) (picture))Characters: (8/10) – GoodIt's the same cast of characters as Tegami Bachi, so why did I give a lower score this time round? The main reason is I don't like how the character, Noir developed. I can't quite put it into words but I like him much more in the manga. Even though, whether in the anime or manga, he's no longer Gauche, I prefer the way Noir conducts himself in the manga. Perhaps, if I didn't read the manga beforehand, I might like anime Noir better. On the other hand, I quite like Lag's development. Though it's also not as good as the manga, I think it's pretty good.I was also hoping to see more of Zazie and Jiggy Pepper but sadly, they enjoyed less air time in the anime than in the manga and this is yet another reason why I much prefer the manga.Art/Animation: (8/10) – GoodI mentioned it before and I shall say it again - I love the art style! It's really beautiful and lovely. The CG gaichuu is the only not so beautiful thing in the anime but I've already got used to it. The animation quality is quite inconsistent. There are some episodes with superb animation quality and some with pretty low quality animation.Music: (9/10) – Very GoodI love the first Opening theme "Chiisana Mahou" by Stereo Pony! It's really nice and sweet. The second Opening theme "Yakusoku" by Suga Shikao is very different and took some time for me to get used to it. After getting used to it, I actually quite like it. The two Ending themes are pretty good too.Enjoyment: (8/10) – GoodI thoroughly enjoyed the first half of Tegami Bachi REVERSE and though I'm quite disappointed with the second half, I quite enjoyed it too.Overall: (8/10) – GoodTegami Bachi and Tegami Bachi REVERSE are quite different from most shounen anime. It gave me a warm feeling while I was watching it. If you like a heartwarming and beautiful anime, watch it (or better still, read the manga!) and I'm sure you won't regret it!

And thus concludes “super saiyan mailmen” I feel like I JUST wrote about episode 24. We’re really at the end so soon? Maybe I’ve just been spending too much time playing God Eater Burst, I MEAN studying to notice the days fly by. Well, better this than being delayed like my poor, poor Madoka. T.T [...]

After starting this vector nearly a year ago, I finally vectored the finishing touches to this image. Below are non-background, black background, and white background (1280×800) jpeg versions of a vector of Gauche Suede from Tegami Bachi based off of one of the manga images that I did on Photoshop. Note: The non-background and white [...]

Letter Bee as a series that’s difficult to recommend. I mean, the heights it can reach is amazing, but its quality does tend to fluctuate and it tends to waste time, the fillers of the first season being the biggest example of this. The second season of Letter Bee is a huge improvement over the [...]

The light of Lag's heart... dual-wielding style!
「こころの光」 (Kokoro no Hikari)
"The Light of the Heart"
This finale caught me emotionally off-guard when I least expected it and made the rest of the entire two seasons so much better because of it. I have a real soft spot for those who pour all their heart into what they believe in and try their earnest to see it through, so once Noir entrusted his Gymnopedies to Lag and the latter showed to the world that he's the embodiment of a second artificial sun, I couldn't help but get a little teary-eyed.

I hate bugs… Cool-chan here. How was your day? Sometimes it feels like no one cares how your day went, so at least I’ll have asked you if no one else did. I could even add in compliments like “my, you look gorgeous today!” or “the way you stare into the monitor at me is [...]

Maka vs. Cabernet. Godzilla-size action!
「決戦ユウサリ中央セントラル」 (Kessen! Yuusari Chuuou (Sentoraru))
"Decisive Battle! Yuusari Central"
Tegami Bachi is generally know for its immersive world and emotion-filled stories, but this lead-up to the finale gave quite a different look with its action-filled city-wide destruction. Once the Bee Hive was completely destroyed by Cabernet, it honestly felt like the series had tread past a point of no return. Once Maka showed up to help and Yuusari Central was getting destroyed from the inside out, the scale of the battle was taken to a whole other level.

You know what? There have been a lot of anime based on wonderful stories that unfortunately didn’t have enough time to animate these entire stories. Leaving aside the series like Giant Killing that managed to pick a logical point to end, and series that just ended up rewriting the entire source material, Letter Bee turned [...]
