It's just stupid. And it makes your sex education look even worse than it probably is.   Love, me.   That aside, I found myself enjoying Sora no Otoshimono considerably more than I expected. To be sure, it's a fanservice-fest, especially as Tomoki explores his newly-granted powers to look up girls' skirts and grope his next-door neighbor, and frankly, I found that whole chunk of the episode pretty obnoxious. But other than that I thought it was rather cute, although nothing particularly new-- even lead female/angel Ikaros looks sort of like what would happen if Ai from Video Girl Ai was designed by CLAMP and the Strike Witches team and then given bigger breasts.    Perhaps it's the fact that the lead character is an ass at the beginning but gets his comeuppance almost immediately is what provides the series its charm; in a moe series like this we're used to one of three protagonists: the "normal" guy, the "wussy" guy, and the "perverted douchebag," the latter of which is usually unrepentant because he usually stars in a comedy. The earliest such example I can think of would be Ataru Moroboshi , of Urusei Yatsura fame, but more recently you could watch He Is My Master for its lead Yoshitaka, whose nicest act always turns out to be the result of some selfish motive. But not so here: we've got what is essentially a "normal" guy who turns "perverted douchebag" when handed his super-powered angelic slave, only to be honestly smacked down as fast as possible.   The two girls, Ikaros and Mitsuki, are pretty standard cookie-cutter girls so far. Ikaros is essentialy Yuki Nagato-- stoic --but programmed to be a nearly omnipotent servant robot. Mitsuki is every mildly-tsundere childhood friend character who bullies and/or mothers the object of her affection. Both are well-acted, and hopefully they-- and Tomoki --will develop nicely.   The animation is decent, and the voice acting is fine, if not particularly outstanding. I liked the song they played at the end, which I'm guessing is actually the OP, since it doesn't match the flying panties ED sequence. All in all, I'd say the show will probably be pretty good for a moe comedy with a touch of fantasy, but nothing you'll slap yourself upside the head for missing, either.     Ratings (of 5): Story: ♥♥♥  Animation: ♥♥♥ Characters: ♥♥♥ OP/ED Themes: ♥♥♥ Overall: ♥♥♥    IF, THEN, BUT If you like these shows, you might like Sora no Otoshimono. - Mahoro-Matic - Queen's Blade - Sekirei Release Info: Released: October 5th, 2009 Length: Ongoing; unknown Features: - English subtitles  - Simulcast-- watch here
