Chief Makina baits Ganta into finding Azami for her.That Ganta, always so popular with the ladies.Summary:After ditching Shiro, Ganta goes into the women's cells to look for Azami, but Azami is not at her cell. A female prisoner passing by recognizes Ganta as a Deadman, and Ganta is chased down by a bunch of prisoners and then handed off to the guards.Meanwhile, Chief Makina and her team are trying to track down Azami's location. Makina knows that Azami had been made into a Forgery and wants to find out how Tamaki is controlling the Forgeries with the masks. After the team picks up Azami's tracking signal, Makina wonders who should send to find Azami, at at this moment she's notified about Ganta's capture in the cell blocks.A short time later, Makina and her assistant walk to the interrogation room to talk to Ganta who has already been softened up by some guards. After figuring out that Ganta is looking for Azami, Makina purposely lets Ganta know that she has Azami's location displayed in the tablet in her hands. Just as Makina had hoped, Ganta breaks out of his restraints with his Branch of Sin, grabs the tablet, and dashes off.Somewhere underground, Azami is sitting with the rest of the Forgeries and thinking about her experiences growing up. As a neglected child, Azami grew up to be independent because she always had to fend for herself. She was imprisoned after taking taking the blame for a bad motorcycle accident involving her bike gang. The only time Azami could remember where someone actually cared for her was when Ganta stood up for her and gave her the star-shaped band-aid. The whirlpool of emotions cause tears to stream out of Azami's eyes, but she then rips off the band-aid and throws on to the floor. At this moment, the doctor approaches and asks Azami to wipe out an intruder, and Azami complies with the order. Moments later, Ganta emerges out of hatch in a walkway and sees the masked Azami waiting for him.How do you save the girl who wants to murder you?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I didn't notice this chapter when it was released two days ago lol. Anyways, unlike my prediction, Ganta actually manages to find Azami without Shiro's help, but of course he was baited into it by Chief Makina. It's good to see Makina being brought back into the story again after the introduction of Forgeries, and looks like the chief still working towards bringing Tamaki down, although things are not as easy now that the public seemed to have been convinced by Tamaki's publicity stunt (doesn't make much sense, but that's what appears to have happened). If Makina wants to shut Tamaki down then she'll have to take over Deadman Wonderland to do it, and taking over/shutting down the Forgeries may be the first step.This chapter also gave a bit of background on Azami. Circumstances in life forced Azami to act tough, but she's still a kind person deep inside. Unfortunately, the Forgeries program is slowly changing her into a mindless killing machine, and given this is Deadman Wonderland, things don't really bode well for Azami. It'd be nice if Ganta could save her, but it's equally as likely for things to end in tragedy. The key to Ganta saving Azami without killing her will be knocking off that mask, but at this point we don't know if that's enough to turn Azami back.
