The group trash their Hummer and Takashi and Saeko have their own little adventure. New look girl band ready for action. This is the reason why you are not supposed ride on top of a motor vehicle. Even with such great recoil absorbers, Takashi still can't hit anything. Episode 08 and 09 summary: The band of survivors manage to cross a shallow part of the river with their Hummer. The group decides to head to Saya's house first as it is closest. On the way, the group runs into an increasing number of zombies as they get closer to Saya's hilltop mansion. An unexpected road block causes Shizuka to execute an abrupt turn and stop, and that throws Rei off of the Hummer and stops the Hummer's engine for good. Despite the road barrier being easily climbable, the group choose to stand their ground and fight the advancing horde of zombies, and Takashi wastes many bullets in the process while using Rei's chest as a shooting platform. Takashi and Saeko try to lead the zombies away, but that fails and the rest of the group is still surrounded by zombies. Suddenly, a group of people dressed in firefighting gear appears on the other side of the barrier. These pseudo-firefighters rescue Rei and the others who are still with the Humvee, and the leader of the rescuers reveals herself to be Saya's mother. While the others are now safe, Takashi and Saeko are on their own and they decide to take another route to Saya's home. The wonders of anime physics... bless them. Please explain why you cannot climb through of over the fence behind you. Don't lie, Takashi. You totally did that on purpose. After traveling for a bit, Takashi and Saeko commandeer an amphibious vehicle from a store. While driving the vehicle, the two of them run into zombies and Takashi makes the getaway by driving the vehicle into the river, but that soaks Saeko. The two drift to a tiny island in the middle of the river and spend time flirting. Later at night, Takashi and Saeko get back on the road again. The two drive into a park where Takashi runs the amphibious vehicle into a fountain and leaves it running to draw the zombies' attention. Saeko has a blast beating up zombies with her wooden sword, but she suddenly freezes up when confronted by kid zombies, and so Takashi has to rescue her and drag her along to a temple to spend the night. At the temple, Takashi discovers a real sword and gives it to Saeko. Takashi then asks about why Saeko froze up, and Saeko explains that she is afraid she is getting pleasure beating up the zombies. Some time ago, Saeko was attacked by a guy, and she beat him up and enjoyed inflicting the pain. Saeko starts rambling about her issues, but Takashi shuts her up with some hand-holding (and perhaps more during the night).  Instead of using the cool amphibious-mobile as the noise generator, Takashi could have instead gotten a boombox and a CD which would do just as well. The next morning, Takashi and Saeko leave the temple and they are soon confronted by zombies that have climbed up the hill. Saeko again freezes up, but Takashi gropes her sadistic nature back into her and Saeko slices and dices the zombies with her newly acquired sword. Some time later, the pair makes it Saya's mansion. Takashi always wanted to do this, and now he has a valid reason to do it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Episode 08 and 09 weren't bad at all. They certainly weren't boring, although a lot of it has to do with hilariously inventive fan service. The action sequence in episode 8 was just stupendous with Takashi using Rei's boobs as shock absorbers for his rifle and barely missing Saeko's naughty spots with his bullets. The shot where Saeko's boobs swings in front and barely out of the way of one of the bullets takes the cake, although I'm not sure how that's physically possible given that the bullet's velocity is probably past the speed of sound. It's sad that Takashi still can't shoot worth a damn. With a big horde of zombies in front, it's pretty impressive that Takashi can fire shots that doesn't hit anything. My last thing to nitpick for that episode is why didn't everyone just climb over the barrier when the Hummer died. That barrier was so loosely spaced that anyone except zombies can climb through or over it. Takashi and the others have incredible survival skills, but they can be pretty dense sometimes too. Episode 09 was a bit less ridiculous, but there were enough questionable content to keep things lively. Takashi ditching the cool eight wheeler in the fountain was pretty dumb since the vehicle was pretty useful and there were plenty of other options for distracting zombies. As for Takashi groping Saeko near the end, I kind of understand that Takashi did that for Saeko to relive that feeling in order to inspire her fighting spirit, but the groping takes all of the seriousness out of the moment. We all know that in part Takashi groped Saeko because he wanted to lol. Takashi and Saeko's day out was pretty successful in the end, and Rei and Saya had better watch out for Saeko. With this post, I've finally caught up to the all the anime I'm covering on this blog this season. I still have to catch up on Sengoku Basara and Occult Academy, and hopefully I'll be able to do it before school work picks up. From the feed of A Product of Wasted Time
