Clain and Sundas venture into the temple's sky base to find Phryne as the battle rages on outside the base. Dias' decision to invest in weapons pays off. Summary: As Lost Millennium and the temple's ship wage a fierce battle outside of the sky base, Clain and Nessa fly into the battlefield on Enri's airship and is retrieved by the Danan. Sundas is surprised to see Clain and Nessa, but after learning that Phryne has gone back to the temple Sundas decides to go rescue Phryne with Clain. This conversation is somehow overheard by Dias' group, and Dias offers to provide a diversion so Clain and Sundas can sneak into the base. With Dias' help, Sundas and Clain manage to sneak past the defenses and into the sky base. Fake tear or real tear? Inside the base, Barrot takes Phryne to see the head priestess who dismisses Barrot from the room. Phryne tells the head priestess to stop the attack on Lost Millennium, but the head priestess isn't about to change her mind. Phryne takes out a knife and threatens to commit suicide, but she drops the knife after the head priestess states that the world would be worse off without Fractale. The priestess then shows Phryne the surveillance feed showing Sundas and Clain running inside the base. Phryne decides to change tactic and appeals to the head priestess as her older sister. Phryne states that she and all her fellow clones have suffered too much for the Fractale system and it's time to end this suffering. The head priestess appears to be moved and asks Phryne to come closer to her, but suddenly she starts choking Phryne. The head priestess states that she hates the world because she wasn't chosen as the key while Phryne was. In order to get revenge on the world, the head priestess will do anything to keep the Fractale system running so that the world will be dragged into oblivion by its dependence on Fractale. Outside the base, the battle continues to rage. Enri and the Danan suddenly receive a message from Dias' crew that the temple's bay doors will open and suggest that the Danan take advantage of the opportunity to charge into the base. Nessa (who is starting to fizzle in and out for some reason) mentions the promise between her, Clain and Phryne to live together and this convinces Enri to take up Dias' offer. You are going to bow before me whether you want to or not. Inside the base, Clain and Sundas are confronted by a column of armed guards, but suddenly the guards are blown away by one of Lost Millennium ships that flew into the base. Back in the throne room, the head priestess receives the report that the bay doors have been hacked, and Phryne uses the distraction to get away. Meanwhile, Clain and Sundas continue down the hallway and find a group of guards have apprehended Enri and are trying to contain Nessa with the help of a priestess. Seeing Nessa in trouble, Clain charges in blindly firing his rifle, but he is bailed out by Dias' group who mow down the guards with their guns. Dias had used a special doppel to hack the temple's system. Dias encourages Nessa and Clain to go find Phryne, but afterwards he orders his forces to follow the two and kill Phryne once she is located. Sundas is pissed that Dias is trying to kill Phryne and punches Dias in the face before running off after Clain and Nessa. In another hallway, Phryne is confronted by some of Dias' forces, but several priestesses sacrifice themselves to allow Phryne to escape. If you want to go Rambo, you need to work on your aim first. Back in the throne room, priestesses arrive to inform the head priestess that her escape ship is ready, but the head priestess wants to start the prayer ceremony instead. Meanwhile, Nessa and Phryne have no idea where Phryne is, but Nessa gets the idea to sing the "Wish upon a star" song. The idea works and Phryne and Clain find themselves on opposite side of a transparent wall. Nessa stands in between Clain and Phryne and holds their hands to the two can talk to each other. Clain wants Phryne to go back with him and Nessa so the three of them can live together like promised, but Phryne tells Clain and Nessa to go back and cherish their pure memories together. Suddenly, Barrot appears on Phryne's side of the wall and plans to tell Clain about the "love" between himself and Phryne. Why is there a random transparent wall inside the temple? Pedo alert. Yuck... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's the second-to-last episode, and Fractale is doing an okay job building up to the conclusion. The action sequences weren't too bad, although it's not the best that Fractale has shown. I found it interesting that Lost Millennium and the temple fought it out only using large ships, and there are no fighter-class aircrafts flying about other than Enri's airship. You'd think small, agile aircrafts with enough firepower would do well against the big and slow moving ships. I still don't understand what Phryne really had in mind when she decided to go back to the temple, but then again she is somewhat naive and doesn't always think about the consequences of her actions. Also, the series had to find some reason to gather up all the important characters for the finale, so having Phryne return the temple was the most straight-forward way although not necessarily the way that makes the most sense. In this episode, we learned that the head priestess is one of those characters who wants to get revenge on the world for her own misfortunes. You can't blame her for turning out this way since being a Phryne clone isn't exactly a great job. Although she is a little crazy, there is still a chance that the head priestess may have a change of heart since she isn't evil like Barrot, so it'll be interesting to see what she tries to do next episode. We also learned that Dias is helping Clain and Sundas out so he can find and kill Phryne to stop the Fractale system from rebooting. It's not too surprising of a plot, and I actually thought Dias would go further and use the opportunity to perhaps take over the world or something. Maybe that's what he'll do in the finale. Dias' brand of Lost Millennium is certainly the most ruthless one, so I'd expect him to try something a bit more diabolical. And finally, it looks like we'll finally learn the history of "love" between Phryne and Barrot. The previous episodes already had many not-so-subtle hints about the relationship, and it'll probably to be at least a little bit disturbing. I don't know how far Fractale is going to go with the sexual abuse angle because it might make the show a little too adult. I hope Phryne will show some "balls" and kick Barrot in the balls for all he has done to her though. People like Barrot deserve a "proper" sendoff. So the series will conclude next episode, and there are still several ways the series can end. I think Nessa and Phryne will probably merge (at least temporarily) to become the "key", but it's hard to say what happens after that. I also wonder why Nessa is starting to fizzle out this episode.
