Black Rock Shooter 8 Summary Everybody gets hurt. One has to die. One has to face her fears. One has to… wait a minute, I have to look on my notes. This didn’t fail my expectations. In fact, I was overwhelmed with what I saw (the only thing to do while I watch is to wail “BRS! BRS!,” but no, I’m in a public place.) First things first: I finally understand why Mato loved that story so much. It took me weeks asking my always-denying self “What’s with that bird anyway?”. Now I know. Just look at the rundown (or better yet, watch the episode for yourself). Rundown Yuu releases her rage. “They tore my uniform…” Meanwhile, STR calls Mato. …and STR goes suicidal. “Don’t do it! […] Yuu is my friend…” STR goes afloat. Then Mato goes into BRS’ world. “This is your world.” We see the white-haired Yuu. I love her suit, honestly speaking. “Alone? Mato helped me.” Mato, as BRS, speaks with iBRS. She talks about that bird again. “I want to get hurt properly.” “It’s red.” Now Mato’s hurt. “I can’t move.” …then she dreams to fly. …and so she flew in the blue sky. At the school, Koha, Kagari, Yomi… they are all crying. “Why did I forget?” “But I like Mato.” Shooter Rage. …and the cannon is destroyed. Suddenly, she got a lot of help from others. “They’re hurt.” “I think I love Yomi after all.” “I want to be with her.” “Black Rock Shooter.” “I will hurt you!” Cannon. Bang! After that, Mato wakes up on some place, with Yuu and STR. “Call me by my name.” “No, please don’t die” “You’ll be fine, Yuu.” There they are.s “You’ll have lots of friends.” “The worlds have merged.” “I am your soul.” “We love you.” “The real world can be so wonderful. Trust me.” “Thank you, Mato.” Yuri face. “We’ll allays be friends, right?” Then, a swirl of colors in the sky. BRS flees. Yuu wakes up. Saya-chan welcomes her. Outside, Mato hugs Yomi. “This world is so colorful.” A new day. Yuu and Mato become classmates. The four comes to Saya-chan’s office. …they went to the rooftop. Friends together! Yuri~! Heil! “We will grow up in this world.” Other Notes Congratulations, Ordet and Sanzigen, for making an alternate story about BRS through an 8-episode series, and concentrating on Yuu’s (and STR’s) past. With all the hate that this series has received not just from me (but other fellow anibloggers as well), I can safely say that this deserves to be in the noitaminA slot of Fuji TV. Enough said. Also, I would like to take the opportunity to thank Thermae Romae for filling the void before BRS airs with bathtub designs, etc. Since this is the first time that I really experience noitaminA in my two-year anime fanboy-ism, I feel glad.
