The moment I've been waiting for has finally arrive!! The new OP of Soul Eater (「PAPERMOON」 by Tommy Heavenly6) !! Yippie! The new OP is cool and brings out the spirit of Soul Eater. However, I do prefer the first OP and the EP slightly more.I'm so excited about the new OP and episode 31 that I'm ditching Ga-Rei Zero at this moment to watch Soul Eater first!! As I'm typing right now, I'm actually half way through the episode and so far.. Great episode! This episode is mainly about Crona. You get to see how her character develops and the internal struggles she goes through. I actually feel a lot for her towards the end and even feel like crying with her :'(This episode also has its funny moments. I especially like the part showing exchanges between Justin, Spirit (Maka's Father) and Shinigami-sama. It's really hilarious.. ^^Episode 31Maka and friends are very friendly towards Crona. As a result, shy and reserved Crona is beginning to open up more.Liz and Pattie go shopping with Crona. (Is Crona a boy or a girl??!!.. Greatest mystery in Soul Eater! This picture makes me feel that Crona is a boy but why does all the subtitles say She? :S)Due to the warm hospitality Crona receives in Shibusen from her friends, Crona is feeling more at ease in Shibusen. Too bad.. before the friendship could develop any further.... after a party with her friends, Crona bumps into someone she never expects to meet.. loli Medusa.Obviously, Crona is frightened to see Medusa. Medusa claims to visit Crona out of concern but the truth is.. she wants Crona to be a spy in Shibusen.Crona is reluctant, especially when she thinks about her friends. She doesn't want to betray Maka and others. However, Medusa 'reminds' Crona that she's her mother and that forces Crona to betray her friends and Shibusen.Shinigami-sama meets up Justin to assign him a new task. However, there's some difficulty in communicating as Justin hardly Listens (only to his music!!) and prefers to Lip-Read.As Shinigami-sama is wearing a mask, Justin is not able to lip-read. Hence, Shinigami-sama asks Spirit to "Repeat After Him" so that Justin can lip-read and learn about the new task. Spirit is forced to repeat after Shinigami-sama.. (haha.. I really enjoy this part.. really funny!)Under the instruction of Medusa, Crona makes use of Marie-sensei's trust and kindness to get into Professor Stein's Laboratory. Eruka (also under Medusa's instruction) passes a pen to Crona. The pen is actually a tapping device.At Professor Stein's place, Crona removes the pen cap and puts Medusa's snake into a cup of coffee which..Marie-sensei drinks unsuspectingly. The snake is a tapping device which allows Medusa to eavesdrop. It also contains Medusa's power and that evil power has the ability to accelerate the madness in Professor Stein.After the successful operation, Eruka uses a radio to demonstrate the 'tapping' power of Medusa's snake. Over the radio, Crona could hear Marie-sensei's and Professor Stein's conversation. When Crona hears the kind words Marie-sensei says regarding her, Crona feels very guilty and sad.Crona then quietly walks back to her room and starts weeping :'( so sad...After the EP, suddenly, Excalibur appears! =Xand Maka is singing the Excalibur song!! It's an irritating and yet hilarious song. I think we'll see more of the irritating Excalibur next week...
