Skip Beat! 9 Kyoko’s challenge this episode was to act a scene from a new drama to get into the agency’s actor’s training course. However, she is instructed by the director’s grandaughter Maria to portray the role of a loving older sister as a person who actually hates her younger sister. Maria feels this would be more realistic - since Maria herself was blamed by her family for the death of her mother. Kyoko’s real challenge is thus: to impress the bitches in the acting program, to reverse the personality of the character as written, and to “save the heart” of the younger sister (Maria) in the process. Of course Kyoko totally blows everyone away, by using the exact same script but flipping the older and younger sister’s lines (mirroring Ren’s acting style by forcing her acting partner to do what she desires). Halfway through the scene Maria takes over as the younger sister, and Kyoko’s acting of the scene pushes her to *gasp* realize that her own father doesn’t hate her - he is distant because Maria has been the one distancing him. Willing suspension of disbelief is required to handle this show. But Kyoko is successful, impressing Maria, the director (who needs to stop dressing like the sheik of Dubai/an imperial Russian czar/whatever stupid costume he’ll have on next week) and her Love-Me partner Kotonami (better known as Mouko-san, since she’s always saying “Mou!”). Kyoko and Mouko-san get to take the actor’s training course, and at the end of the episode they all happily ride together in a Hum-vee limo with the sheik of Dubai.
