Great work, guys!
It’s always a great pleasure to have a new translated visual novel to play - this one appeals to the RPG nerd in me too!
So I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks out to Ryuusoul and the rest of the Utawarerumono team. Your efforts are certainly appreciated.

I’m glad that I watched these five episodes before jumping to conclusions on Utawarerumono because there’s a lot surrounding the show’s premise and origins that doesn’t bode well. For one thing, it is an adapation of a bishoujo computer game: a recent trend in the anime industry that I can’t say I’m overly keen on. [...]

Aruru is a very cute character from Utawarerumono, her liveliness and occasional stubbornness is one of the key characteristics that keeps the Aruru fans going ‘crazy’. A close friend of Kamyu and younger sister of Eruru, her innocent nature is what defines her [...]

On Monday, I looked at the state of classic fantasy in anime, and although it would have been enough to end it there and conclude that it was generally in a sorry state, I knew there was something more I had to write about- namely, fantasy with a sci-fi twist (like you couldn’t guess that [...]

Just noticed that the DVD specials for Utawarerumono came onto Tokyotosho, so downloaded and watched them to great glee (Nothing like DVD specials to hot up the gratuitous nudity and yuri fanservice). DVD special 2 is about Aruru’s hiding place and features a bath [...]

Although the name of this title is “Utawarerumono Special” but there’s nothing much special about it. I was expecting a lot of funny scenes but it was a let down. I didn’t laugh for the whole episode and the only thing that surprises me is the part when they played hide and [...]

It’s been a while since I finished a 26-episode series, but Utawarerumono more than exceeded my expectations. At first it seems like some kind of bizarre Gundam-Harem RPG silliness with a title that’s hard to remember, but the series actually gets fairly deep. Moreover, the harem never truly develops as the show’s protagonize [...]

Iceman is taken for experiments because of [...]
